Disneyland Paris

I booked an apartment in Paris for October a while ago with a view to taking kids 12 14 and 3 to Disney. Just looking at tickets and for a two day ticket(just before half term but Fri and sat) it’s £810 for kids and two adults, added fast track just to see and that brings it up to £1550…!? Bit shocked. If you’ve been recently what did you think of it?

I mainly wanted to see how people enjoyed it when they went there’s some awful reviews on trip advisor and worse on trust pilot! Having looked properly I’m going for 3 nights Davy Crocket ranch with 4 days park tickets 1400. Don’t think we’ll use all 4 days tickets but still feels like better value plus get the magic hour.
Be nice if could get 2 weeks at Orlando for 3k 😂
Even then I don’t fancy that at the moment

The extra magic hour is a great bonus and more park days means less stressing if one day is a bit of a write off because of queues/weather/kids being kids!

Iknowaboutpopular · 02/04/2025 12:33

Davy Crockett is actually much further than you think from the park. 7.7km. Takes about 10/15mins. And there is no shuttle service. Youll get free parking in your own car though included in ticket price.
But it bears thinking that even though the extra magic hour is great, if you're not leaving super early, you'll miss it.

We’re Disney Vacation club members, so don’t even pay for accommodation anymore (and a family of 4) and with all the research in the world, you can’t stay onsite as a family of 4 for less than £3k!

Park tickets alone for 4 have cost us over £2k this year bought in the black Friday sale at Disneys lowest peak time (I know this as the DVC points charts are based on this) so by your logic I could get flights and a Disney hotel for less than £1k - all stars resort alone costs more than that for 2 weeks!

and that’s not including food and spends.

so sorry, you cannot get a trip to WDW onsite for less than £3k and that’s been the case for a few years now.

if you can post a breakdown of how you achieved this on your latest trip I’d be really interested to see where I’m going wrong in planning my trips?

They won't be back...

I suspect the same 🤔😂

If you're happy to wait for quite lengthy ques and your kids wont mind then don't pay the money but FWIW after having been twice, once with and once without fast track I wouldn't go again without fast passes. The difference was astronomical in terms of the ques, the last trip we spent 3 days and managed to do every ride and that was only down to the fast track, if he didn't have that we wouldn't have managed half of them. That was low season to

My experience too. No way would I go without. It’s not worth it, if you want to go on the good rides anyway.

Pepperpie14 · 02/04/2025 13:51

OP you need a car for the ranches - it is not walkable at all and there is no bus or shuttle!

notmyhusbandsproperty · 02/04/2025 14:11

Download the app and you can get up to date info on ride times etc. you can also buy individual fast passes for the rides on it.

JitterbugFairy · 02/04/2025 14:41

We are looking to go. Myself, husband and daughter. Can anyone recommend best value hotel? My daughter has a nimbus card so we wouldn't need fast track passes. When is the best time to go? I like the idea of going when it's all Christmassy. Is it ridiculously expensive then?

@JitterbugFairy

Ibis budget hotel at Val d'Europe shopping centre is a great budget option. Simple, not fancy, but clean and super cheap. Right next to RER train station. Just one stop to Disneyland, takes about 5-10 mins

Shopping centre has restaurants and a huge hypermarket

Haven't been at Christmas

Arran2024 · 02/04/2025 15:13

We went to WDW for next to nothing once because my husband qualified for free flights and his mate worked for Disney and gave us free tickets and it is still the most expensive "free" holiday we ever had!!

Anyway, we enjoyed Paris more. I think partly because we did Paris first and imo the first visit to Disney is always so magical.

And no jet lag. And imo the US parks' health and safety operations were crazy. We felt it Paris was much better run.

I’m really not happy to wait in really long ques and I doubt youngest will be either but it’s the teen and tween who will be keen for the big rides. How do the ques compare to say Alton towers only went once but I found the ques ridiculous

A tiny bit more??? Sorry we’ve just booked WDW and it’s costing us the best part of £10,000 for 2 weeks. It’s definitely not ‘a tiny bit more’

Yeah right! I laughed out loud at ‘a tiny bit more’. We’re going to Florida for the 3rd time this year and it’s costing us about £12k all in for a 3 week break (including Universal to be fair). That’s for two adults. DLP is always going to be cheaper, simply because you don’t need as long there. We went for 5 days last year (3 park days) and it was £2.5k all in for 3 adults.

onwardsup4 · 02/04/2025 15:27

The queues can be crazy! If any of you are eligible for the disabled fast pass then you just take proof such as a PIP letter and ID, go to City Hall and they’ll give you a free fast pass. The holder of the fast pass can go on the rides as many times as they want and take up to (4??) people with them. You just go through the Express lane.

onwardsup4 · 02/04/2025 15:32

Not sure if it makes a difference but when booking park+hotel the kids are all classed as kids but tickets alone 12+ are adults

The queue theming makes a difference at Disney Parks, there's usually more to see and distract younger children with than at UK parks. There are also shows, parades and characters to entertain so it doesn't feel like you've just spent 6 hours queuing for 3 rides and achieved nothing.

Longma · 02/04/2025 17:23

TennesseeStella · 01/04/2025 20:23

In what universe can you get a Florida Disney holiday for a family of 4 for £3k?! £3k per person is more realistic.

We’ve been about a dozen times.
Dd worked there for a summer.
DD’s boyfriend works there.

We’ve always had to go in school holidays but even with the cast member discounts we have NEVER been for so little, and definitely not when staying in Disney property.

I’d love to see a full breakdown of the costs from that poster, with all the hotel, flights and tickets per person. Even off season it seems incredibly low.

Arran2024 · 02/04/2025 17:47

You don't need fast pass for the Studios as it's mostly shows which you queue up for- you do have to work out your timings to fit everything in.

If you can afford fast pass, why not? My girls both have disabilities and qualified, though we didn't find out about this til they were older, and we never used it at Disney, only the UK theme parks. I agree it makes the day much easier.
