anyone else have this sore throat virus

i have had a sore throat when swallowing the pain is unreal the back of my throat is clear no redness no white patches doctor has checked me over twice now and i’ve had this for 9 days !
keep coughing a lot also
doctor won’t give anything because it’s viral and it won’t help anyway but i am so miserable not being able to swallow properly 🤦🏻‍♀️

I hope everyone is doing much better. Mine stopped hurting after about 3-4 weeks.

was it like swallowing knives the whole time or was there a few days of the worst of it then a bit of an improvement

Mine developed into a nasty dose of what I assume was Covid as I lost all my taste and smell and still can’t smell but I can taste most stuff albeit muted. It was nasty!

Mine was mostly one sided and it hurt to open my mouth for a while. My jaw hurt as well. I've never had this type of sore throat before.

I had it too but missed the whisky memo I’m 💯 sure that would have worked 😂. Being serious though I had it for two weeks and never had a sore throat which was so painful - zero other symptoms other than tiredness very odd.

Yes similar. Though I think the tiredness is mostly cos I can’t sleep as it is so bad at night

Has anyone take Echinacea, Vit C and Zinc?

@Clearinguptheclutter Mine went after 3 weeks, too - but DH has just told me the back of his throat is burning again - so it may be back with us. The first time he brought it home from a hospital appointment - he went to a different hospital last Friday - I'm hoping he's not brought something back from there this time!

i think i have it throats been more uncomfortable than useal .I have had reoccurring tonsilitis for nearly two decades so swallowing never comfortable but its worst than usual .As if it wasn't bad enough now this

I have it too. It started with a tickly throat and progressed to a sore throat with dry cough and now a runny nose.
Night time is worse. Like another poster said it's like razor blades and not getting any sleep.
