To have had a lush mother's day so far?

Getting ahead of the many hypercritical posts.

I've had a fab morning. Still in my PJs at 1000. Homemade cards and crafts from my kids (6yo and 20 months). Flowers. And my husband made breakfast (poached egg, English muffin, spinach and the piece de resistance - homemade hollandaise sauce!)

Genuinely thoughtful, not horrendously expensive. Shows love and care from everyone!

My oldest made a jewellery dish with dried flowers at school. And a chocolate bar with a 'super woman' wrapper. I did give him the cash for the PTA for these (because he is 6). I'll also share the chocolate (Galaxy underneath) when I open it.

What lovely things have you had/ done today?

I've also had a lovely day. Lie in and then homemade cards from my 7 and 4 year old. We then went to the beach, DH packed a lovely picnic with some can pimms for me! Had an excellent time on a sunny, sandy beach exploring, playing tennis and building sandcastles. Ice cream before home and then went for a lovely 8k run through the countryside whilst DH put the kids to bed.

About to have a takeaway whilst rewatching New Girl! Happy Mothers Day all

Day got better.

Popped over my parents for picky bits with them, my siblings and their families. Lovely after on in the sunshine.

Now sipping nice pink wine with my fabulous mother-in-law.

Happy mother’s day!

I am a single mum of an 18 yo son who has bought me roses, a lovely mug and a little plaque saying ‘You are the mum everyone wishes they had’ as well as a nice card. This is the first year he has gone solo and not gone shopping with his dad. He has made me cups of tea, we have watched a film together this afternoon and he is now cooking our tea. If I didn’t have a rotten cold, it would have been a perfect day (I do feel rough). I am a proud and happy mum.

I enjoyed reading all these.

Woke up to homemade card and Lego flowers (boxed so I can make them), then brunch and after a walk in the sunny park with ice cream. Lovely.

I spent most of my day in the sunny woods listening to birdsong. It was blinking lovely.

I had a lie-in and cuddles in bed with younger DSs then my eldest DS and DgD came over to surprise me with gifts/cards. We enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine.

Roast dinner with the in-laws and then a relaxing bath!

It’s also our wedding anniversary today too!

I have had a lovely day too. Dc brought me a cup of tea and biscuits in bed. I had home made cards, lego saying happy mothers day, some flowers. Dc 1, (aged 13) bought me a lava lamp out of his own money, as I said I'd like one a few weeks ago in passing, bless him. Dc 2 taped £10 of his pocket money into his home made card. They are such sweet boys. Dh made bacon rolls, then we went for a walk, before my parents came for dinner, so a good day in all.

It’s my birthday today too. My DD made dinner and gave me a thoughtful gift. My son had to work so we are really celebrating my birthday tomorrow. My DD will cook a roast and my son (who lives 70 miles away) is going to do a spring clean up of the garden. Perfect!

I have 3 kids all in their 20's...they all got to mine about 1pm with lovely cards and flowers...we then walked to Wetherspoons...sat outside and had a few drinks and snacks and then came home and ordered an Indian takeaway....perfect.

YANB. The number of negative posts on here yesterday was surprising. I do question the motive of some of the negative posts. It almost feels like some of them are an attempt to bring down a celebration that has been in this country for years and take the focus away from the true meaning of it.

Aw this is a lovely thread and it’s been so nice reading some lovely stories! A bit late to the party but I had a wonderful day yesterday, my partner crept in at 9am not realising I was already awake to leave me a (non-alcoholic) mimosa, I came downstairs after to a beautiful handmade hamper of lovely treats and presents plus a Moonpig photo card. We went for a lovely walk (partner and I plus our dog and one year old) in the sunshine and then a stop off at Sainsbury’s where I was instructed to pick my favourite flowers and got some bits for a bbq that we did in the afternoon whilst watching the football. Played with the little one outside as we’ve just bought him a swing/slide/playground set and once he was in bed at 7 we stuck a film on and had some snacks! Was just the perfect day, upon asking me if I’d enjoyed my day I burst into (happy) tears, which at six months pregnant he is used to me doing 😂

Mine was lovely too.

Slept in till 10. Got up, played xbox for a couple of hours before the teens emerged!

Some lovely cards and thoughtful gifts, but the best bit was the messages in the cards.

Went out to dinner in the evening which was lovely, but again the best bit was just spending time altogether and chatting. My boys are 13, 16 and 16 so we don't often get to do that.
