Just curious about how different cultures buy/prepare/eat food. I'd love to know where you're from and what you would typically eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

DP is Persian and partial to a nice bit of sheep’s head.

He was very disappointed it’s not widely available here.

He also likes tripe and heart but unfortunately doesn’t get to eat them unless he visits family. My boundaries are set in stone!

Germany.
Breakfast is muesli with Greek yoghurt and fruit. Rolls and eggs at the weekend.
Lunch often is risotto/pasta bake/pie, that sort of thing or pasta pesto etc
For dinner, we usually eat bread with cold cuts/cheese/tomatoes/cucumbers etc.
DS has lunch at school and often eats our leftovers for dinner.

Lucky him

Deep fried candy bars for dinner, though I like the idea for dessert I’d never be able to eat that more than every 6 months. That’s really rich.

So a mars bar is a deep fried pizza,I’m liking that more than anything. Here in an America a mars bar is a huge candy bar. But Americans fry everything so it would be a deep fried mars bar.

Joystir59 · 17/03/2025 02:18

Coventry. Porridge or overnight oats, a sandwich, fish with lots of veg.

NormasArse · 17/03/2025 02:28

Lancashire.

Black pudding on a barm for breakfast.

Butter pie for dinner.

Hotpot for tea.

Well, I guess when you have nothing else to eat you have to do what you have to do. Thankfully I’ve never been there

LordBuckley · 17/03/2025 02:55

A southern US state.

I don’t eat breakfast.

Either soup, a couple of tacos, salad or leftovers for lunch.

Dinner could be anything. Pasta, steak and baked potatoes, curry, stir fry…something like that.

In a chip shop you can get a deep fried pizza, it's one of the cheap ones with a thin layer of cheese and sometimes onion on top.

The pizza crunch is the same pizza slice dipped in batter and deep fried.

I've got a craving for a deep fried pizza now, the bread soaks up all of the oil and gets amazingly crispy!

I grew up in Scotland. Every day without fail, we had porridge with salt for breakfast, deep fried mars bars for dinner and mince&tatties for tea (unless it was a special occasion, and then it was haggis, neeps and tatties.) Every meal accompanied by Irn Bru

No macaroni 😱
