Maybe just the excitement of the weekend or a bit of sunshine anything big of small.. what are you grateful that happened this week

I've had a really rough week so I appreciate this isn't much but it actually made me cry (in a good way!)

I'm a performing arts teacher in school show week combined with some shit personal stuff that's taking up loads of time. Coming to the end of a 90 hour working week setting up this show ahead of the whole day rehearsals and perfromances. Today was hard physical set building work that I'm not cut out for and I was right on the edge by the evening. One of our leading roles is a pretty difficult child with lots of additional behavioural and learning needs who we've taken a massive risk on. They came into the theatre at hometime (which was out of bounds for the day but whatever!), looked at the set and shouted 'Oh my God, that looks SICK! I can't wait for tomorrow, I'm going to practise my solo so much tonight.' and ran out again.

I probably should have told them off but they literally made my week!

I managed to wake up at the crack of dawn to see the lunar eclipse. It was really special and the dawn chorus was so loud and beautiful.

My new sandals look great

EdithStourton · 14/03/2025 22:09

It's been a bit of a shit week for various reasons but it had three highlights, all of them today:

  1. Did my bit for the Church's Conservation Trust at a little local church, helping a friend out.
  2. Went out for a cuppa with a friend who commiserated with me over the shit-ness of my week.
  3. Made a cake which looks fabulous.

@LunaNorth good luck for the foal.

This week has been dire tbh, a horrible cold which has turned to a chest infection, my work laptop went kaput and my new council tax bill came in, however my dog cheers me and brightens every day

TheFormidableMrsC · 14/03/2025 22:12

After 11 years of being a lone parent/carer reliant on carer’s allowance and tax credits, I’ve been offered a SEN TA 1-1 role that fits in with my caring responsibilities. I can’t wait to get back to working although it’s a massive departure from my pre disabled child life and career. I have filled my very little spare time with volunteering in various capacities to keep me sane.

I need this. I really hope it works out under my current circumstances 🤞

I finished a course of antibiotics that had made me have the most horrendous shits every day of the week. Evil but necessary horrible antibiotics for an awful chest infection that I think (🤷‍♀️🤞) has finally gone…!

I feel your pain, I've been there with those antibiotics 😬💩

Went to a Caravaggio exhibition in Rome.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 14/03/2025 22:16

My beautiful house cat coming home just after midnight on Wednesday. He escaped on Tuesday, first time he’d ever got out. It was 24 hours of panic and worry and then I awoke to a miaow on the balcony and my god the joy and relief was immense! He’s happily snoring at my feet now 🐈

JMSA · 14/03/2025 22:19

I received a lovely email today from a parent. I work closely with her child who has health issues.

Oh my goodness, this is my recurring nightmare. I'm convinced mine would never make it if he escaped (Ragdoll cat - known for needing to be housecats due to extreme stupidity 😂) I'm so, so happy to hear yours is home safely.

A nice guy from work, found a goofy way to message with me before we finished up for the long weekend (in Ireland, St Patrick's day), and wished me an awesome Bank Holiday. It was sweet, and a pleasant little flirt to finish the week.

downbadd · 14/03/2025 22:29

My 6 week old baby boy smiled for the first time ❤️

BitOutOfPractice · 14/03/2025 22:31

I’m so sorry op but I don’t have one. It’s been shite, starting with the death of a dear friend. I’ve enjoyed reading other people’s little joys though.

Eastie77Returns · 14/03/2025 22:35

DD scored 100% in a French test.

A very good looking man asked me out for a drink (sadly had to turn him down!)

Handmaid2019 · 14/03/2025 22:42

Had my first mortgage approved! I’m almost 40, been in debt my entire adult life. Never thought I would sort my finances out and get a mortgage!

Cherrybakewell2025 · 14/03/2025 22:55

Felt the sun on my face and sea wind in my hair, cold but bright and an early exit from school and work, kids sledged down sand dunes and we had dinner looking at the waves.. mussels, oysters, haddock, cod and a random but much loved baked camembert.

Lucky you!

stretchytiger · 15/03/2025 01:09

Was taken seriously by the GP!

Lilly1771 · 15/03/2025 02:10

Reading the thread where the poster kept spelling nephew with a k, knephew. For some reason it's really tickled me 🤣

WhingeInTheWillows · 15/03/2025 02:30

@Lilly1771 I had a smile at that. It makes sense, like knife, know, knock.

Katemax82 · 15/03/2025 02:34

Had my 4th child on Monday, elective cesarean, first ever cesarean.

I was given a lovely heartfelt thank you card and a mini chocolate cake. Little cat hasn't brought in any dead mice or birds this week.

Monty27 · 15/03/2025 03:28

For the first time ever my son of 29 and lives with me, invited me out for dinner as I'd just got home from a rare week's holiday. He treated me to Nandos round the corner. I loved every minute ‐‐except the food‐‐ .
😆💗
