DH accidentally let baby eat some cinnamon bun?

AIBU to be annoyed by this... DH had my 6mo and he was eating a cinnamon bun. He said baby grabbed it (she's very fast with her hands) and brought it to her mouth. He immediately stopped her but not before he said she ate a tiny amount of it. Baby is acting fine and no reactions or anything but I'm still annoyed? I'm strict with what she eats don't want her eating processed foods, and obviously no added sugars until 2. She's only had a handful of freshly made fruits and veggies since starting solids at 6 months, I guess now we can add cinnamon bun to the list.

AIBU to be annoyed when it was an accident? I didn't go mad at him or anything but it's been nagging at me since it happened.

I am not the one making a huge fuss about very little.

No, but you are the one who can't be bothered to click 'See all' before commenting.

OBVIOUSLY no sugar until 2.

you know sugar compound in a cinnamon bun is identical to the one in an apple/carrot.

Well no it obviously isn't.

I remember a friend's child was found sucking a dead mouse.......she's still alive 50 years later.....

Oh my god... That stopped me in my tracks lol

Don't let others tell you they didn't panic over one thing or another with their FIRST baby. I was a really relaxed parent but it took a couple of kids to become that way. First baby, not so much. No one is, don't let them tell you otherwise ❤️

I know you are trying to be nice here, but this isn't helpful. The level of anxiety the OP showed over this isn't normal 'first baby worries', suggesting it's normal isn't doing her any favours.

My crazy Italian BIL gave his 4 week old baby a taste of chocolate ice cream. The baby looked momentarily shocked, then deeply happy.
He’s now big, healthy and lovely.

That’s because you’re incapable of reading more than one post. If you’d read all the OP’s posts you wouldn’t be making an idiot of yourself right now.

I think it’s you who’s making an idiot of themselves!

This comment has put me right in the mood for a Greggs apple turnover mmmmm.....

Stop it!! There are now lots of Mumsnetters salivating at the very thought, including me! Please pray for me……..I am literally 5 mins walk away from a Greggs, an M and S and lots more temptation! I am doomed!

Did it really take you 2 days to come back with that stunning and inaccurate riposte?

Itsjustgonenoonhalfpastmonsoon · 16/03/2025 12:27

I’m 53 and I don’t think I’ve ever had a cinnamon bun. I like cinnamon, buns not so much. 😂x

Needspaceforlego · 16/03/2025 12:29

I caved into a sticky cinnamon bun yesterday.

@August24Mama your. Dh and baby have good taste

I think it's really good that your baby is showing so much interest in food! My DS would eat anything but he never had real junk. Like many toddlers he would eat things off the floor if I didn't get it fast enough and ask family or friends for whatever they had. I've got colleagues with little ones who struggle to eat at all.
