...to enjoy having different types of one thing without it being commented on by others in the school playground??

Ok, I'm pram obsessed! Lol.

However, surely it is up to me and if it keeps me happy then there is no harm done. Also, why is it that others assume that I have a whole 'fleet' of 20 different prams at home because I always have different ones. Well, approx. once a month maybe longer dependant on if I like them or not!

I rarely buy new and always sell one to buy another.

I only speak to one other Mum in the school playground, I just get looks and whispering from others. Until last week when one Mum plucked up the courage to speak by asking if I was a buggy tester and has never spoken since. Then on Friday I allowed dd to walk, (it only took us 2 hrs to do a 10 minute walk, lol!), and another Mum piped up 'Why you letting her walk when you have about 15 different prams'.

Whether its shoes, handbags, clothes etc.... Its all the same and I don't passs judgement on other Mums by having different handbags everyday or a different pair of shoes everyday??

Rant over but its my one little indulgence that I am sad to say I enjoy but wish people would speak to me instead of assume things.

Sorry OTT, but feel better now I've said it!!!

maybe the other mums wish they could keep getting new prams, I know I get bored quickly of my prams but see no point in changing them all the time...

But don't realy think they would ignore you because you always change your prams, but I have no children at school so do not know how it all works aT SCHOOL...

Spidermama · 14/09/2008 19:06

I think you may be paranoid. I can honestly say I have never noticed what prams mums use on the school run so I would certainly be completely oblivious if anyone changed their pram.

This thread is mad naval gazing type stuff.

People really don't notice you that much and if they do, they need help.

mamachat · 14/09/2008 19:06

also i don't think its fair for people on mums net to say nasty comments about the OP because she likes prams....

bloomingfedup · 14/09/2008 19:09

Prehaps the OP thinks the other mothers are in awe of her and her fleet of prams and that is why they don not talk to her. YAWN.

spicemonster · 14/09/2008 19:11

How can you get bored of a pram? It's a thing for conveying your child from A to B. It's utterly bizarre

Lauriefairycake · 14/09/2008 19:13

"getting bored of a pram"

is that the same as:

"getting bored of waking up" ?

wotulookinat · 14/09/2008 19:15

As long as a pram/pushchair does the job safely, then surely there are better things to spend your money on, that would actually benefit the baby in some way?

mandykaden · 14/09/2008 23:34

BECAUSE ive been in search for the perfect pram for over a year and only ever found one im comfortable pushing!
the stokke xplory is the only pram that does what its supposed to they are all a load of crap that work as if babys have made them.
and bloomin, you need to grow up?
just coz ive got loadza money to waste and you havent,
abit of jealousy going on i think?
and your the chav, why you always on mums net and not out in the real world with FRIENDS???
i only just came on mumsnet to buy YET ANOTHER PRAM that i heard about of a nice girl!!
other than that i just wanted to see what all the mum bitches had written?
maybe you should all spend more time with your children and less time on the computer!
and as for replying to old threads, i will do as i like, your the sad gits that read it...
and i only just joined!...so im getting my say in!

A pointy stick is a good way to transport infants around. Insert stick up infant jacksy, hoist over shoulder and away you go.

ScottishMummy · 15/09/2008 00:10

ah da poker up da arse. lol does bugaoo do dem

arfishy · 15/09/2008 00:47

OMG. Do grown-ups really talk to each other like this .

I think the OP sounds quite measured tbh.

foxytocin · 15/09/2008 00:57

I love slings. I understand the pushchair thing. And like you say, there comes the point where I only get a new one by selling off one that i am no longer in love with. It is like shoe addiction but then, no one resells their stinky shoes when they are done with them, do they?

Enjoy your pushchairs. Continue to ignore the wolf mongrel pack

wehaveallbeenthere · 15/09/2008 01:07

Don't ignore them, they probably think you are the most interesting of the mums around! I would think if they could figure out how you do it they would want to do it too. That's wonderfully clever of you. You are a bit of uniqueness in your group...perhaps, if you wished of course, you could offer them some advice on which you found favor over the others? and why.

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 15/09/2008 09:42

OMG, why is this still going??! I am very level headed, although some might not think so!

I only have one pram at a time and sell one before I buy another, although now stick with my Stokke Xplory.

If I had bought the Stokke Xplory when dd was born it would last her until she is 3.5 yrs and would last another so value for money if you use it for that long.

rebelmum1 · 15/09/2008 11:50

Ha ha when you're dc's grow up what will you do? I bet you will still have them and take them for a push around .

rebelmum1 · 15/09/2008 11:50

At least you'd have the excuse of always needing a handbag ..
