To think I could stay awake infinitely just to stare at my child’s face?

Let me start by saying.. I’m a low-iron, serial napping, heavy eyed sleepy girl 24/7. Always tired.. love bedtime.

HOWEVER I don’t know what it is. Both of them. They’re 5 & 3 and half the time they’re testing my every nerve. But the second they fall asleep? Their angelic peaceful faces make me not want to fall asleep at all. I could stare at their face all night and not blink.. and that annoys me because tomorrow I’ll be even more tired.. and I have to orangish their toys so I have a BIG day.

I got my ds's 24th birthday present exactly right yesterday. His face was suddenly 5 years old again.....

Quite often after I've spent a full day looking forward to bedtime and some peace, I'll stay in the room for ages after DD has fallen asleep so I can look at her some more, then come downstairs and start scrolling through my camera roll to look at pictures of her. Ridiculous really.

This made me well up 🥺

I spend quite a lot of mealtimes gazing at my almost-17 yr old, his beautiful unusual eye colour and enormous lashes. To be countered with MUUUUM STOP STARING AT ME LIKE A STALKER

🤣
