So many different flavors around for meat today.
Sauces, rubs, marinades.
Just wondered does anyone just eat plain meat anymore??

My parents did a lot of very plain lamb & pork chops when i was a child, my memory of these is that they were dry & tough, so i tend to avoid those cuts now

Did we ever eat dry meat? Pork and apple sauce or mustard. Beef with mustard or horseradish. Lamb with mint or redcurrant.sauce. Gammon with parsley sauce. And everything with gravy.

It's not faux. I don't think I ever had (ok bar steak actually) plain meat served in UK. It always comes with something like gravy or condiments or it is marinated and/or cooked with herbs and/or spices.
Even my childhood outside UK in CE I don't remember just plain meat.

But plain roast chicken is still plain meat, even if it’s served with gravy. OP was talking about marinades.

Op also said sauces. Gravy is a sauce
