To want the subtitles on TV?

Husband just told me to turn them off because it spoils the programme.

I say it's better as we don't need to have the TV waaayyy up to be able to understand what happening.

Everyone mumbles on TV programmes these days.

Who is BU?

We have them on for OH who has moderate hearing loss. It is annoying and it ruins the punchlines in jokes but I don’t think it’s unreasonable because he can’t help not being able to hear.

I hate them … very distracting. You end up reading them and not watching the programme.

If you need them use them!

No subtitles = no TV for me due to my deafness.

Yes, I wear very expensive hearing aids but they don’t make you ‘not deaf’.

The DCs turn them off if I’m out of the house but they’re on all the time otherwise. Anyone who complains, who doesn’t have a corresponding processing disorder, is a twat.
