And what was your results like? Did it last long? I’m getting it done soon for the first time and I can’t wait lol

I'm 45 and think I've had it for two years. Three times a year in the 11s (well it seems to last five months). I should have done it before, and when I compare photos I definitely look younger and healthier now.

Notsuchafattynow · 13/02/2025 22:20

I don't have an opinion of anyone who does not have botox.

I don't like the posts that are criticising those that do, and are actually being quite mean / superior / just making shit up.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 13/02/2025 22:04

I would never use it.

Good for you. Very helpful comment for the OP 🤣

pinkstripeycat · 13/02/2025 22:24

I’ve had Botox since I was around 46 for migraines. I have one injection above each eyebrow and 2 in my hair line. My forehead is wrinkle free just from those 4 and they last around 4-5 months until the next lot but my forehead never wrinkles.

The rest are in my scalp and shoulders so don’t make a difference to my appearance.

JustFeedMeCake · 13/02/2025 22:24

@cardibach I'm sorry you're so unhappy you feel the need to attack other people, I really am. I hope things get better for you soon.

Delatron · 13/02/2025 22:28

43 - I’m 48 now. Had it very sporadically but I’m a frowner and it’s helped me change that pattern and stop 11s being ingrained. They are softer now even when it’s worn off.

I have a very low dose and a half dose round the eyes. Leave lots of movement and still some lines in the forehead. Every 6-9 months or so.

When done right (and it’s hard to get right!). I look fresher. Done badly I look a bit scowly. Often take a year off too. The trick, especially as you get older is not to over do it. A very smooth forehead and saggy jaw looks very incongruous..

Oh my goodness this a sad thread.

Is botox really the norm for so many women?
And so many young women at that?

I agree, a sad thread.

It seems women all want to look like clones of those on Love Island !

PoppyQ · 13/02/2025 22:29

I started at 29 when I looked in the mirror and saw some crows feet and fine frown lines.
I'm now 37.

I actually think that I am starting to look a bit odd now compared to my friends who are aging naturally (as far as I know!) So I'm going to think about stopping. It will be hard but I have to accept wrinkles at some point, right?

My mother didn't help, when I was growing up she always made out that life was just about looks, and she always commented on how I looked and how AWFUL ageing is. It's hard to get rid of her voice inside my head.

Love island clones haha, no that’s really not true for me anyway

Delatron · 13/02/2025 22:35

I do think if you start too young it can age you. And if you do it too frequently.

Good for you for being honest, and not just insisting that you look totally normal and just indefinably younger than your age.

I hope the posters who do it aren't teaching their Daughters that it's normal to do it at a young age.

Newbie8918 · 13/02/2025 23:21

@LeaveALittleNote glad I am not the only one who noticed this!

I've not been here long and goodness, it really is the same people over and over!

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/02/2025 23:29

I’m 60. I’ve used frownies since I was mid 40s and have no 11s. Luckily, I don’t have many wrinkles either.

I had cancer 9 years ago. Had treatment and recovered. Won’t be injecting poisons into my body.

I’ve never heard of frownies what are they?

I'm late 40s, read the first page so far and getting baffled - "number 11's coming in?" Confused It's like a different language 😁
Don't think I know anyone in RL who has Botox, and definitely not for me, I don't want to pump shit into my face and knowing my luck my face would blow up if I tried 😂
I like my face and forehead to move.

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 13/02/2025 23:37

Honestly had no idea it was so widespread.

Im 38 and haven’t had it and have no plans to ever have it. I didn’t think I knew anyone who did but based on this thread that seems highly unlikely!

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/02/2025 23:43

I’ve never heard of frownies what are they?

The most basic but very obvious thing, @Thirteenblackcat

They were developed in Hollywood in the 1940s! They are little sticky triangles that you stick on the frown line before you sleep every night.

Most of us frown during our sleep cycle. They prevent you from frowning.

i discovered them about 15 years ago. At 60, I honestly don’t have 11 frown lines.

GreatTheCat · 13/02/2025 23:45

Never. 52.

I'm surprised by the amount of people who have had it.

Thanks, had a little google I think I’ll try them

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/02/2025 23:49

Thirteenblackcat

Please do. Persist for a few weeks. Honestly, they will work. (No, I’m not a shareholder 😁 just a satisfied customer.)

ForeveraBluebird · 14/02/2025 00:01

I go for a late walk on winter evenings, I think it’s what Botox must feel like. Though if this were true I’d have botoxed fingers too .

I have a a group of 8 female friends all of us are late 40s early 50s I'm the only one that hasn't had any treatments. So in my circles it's so normal and common.

I'm 49 and not even remotely tempted. But don't judge anyone who wants it done.
