Did he say something anti-semitic or that he loves Hitler? Nazis were against many groups including the one Kanye West is a part of.

I understand the process of sectioning, it doesn't have to be a family member requesting it at all, I'm wondering why exactly no one is stepping in here for him, he's obviously unwell but still allowed to act out in destructive ways.

Anti semitism is one of the central tennents of nazism not just an optional extra. And no one, with the possible exception of his mum, loved Hitler without sharing his beliefs.

It’s certainly not OK. I don’t think anyone is arguing that it is. But the point is he’s posting this on X, which is owned by a man who is at best tolerant of this sort of shit, at worst actively endorses it. What kind of sanction can there be?

I cancelled Kanye before it became popular (specifically, Golddigger was my ending point).

He hasn’t been cancelled for his anti-blackness
He has not been cancelled for his anti-semitism
He has not been cancelled for his misogynoir
He has not been cancelled for multiple partners alleging coercive control.

He has even been given his X platform back by a fellow Nazi.

So at this point all I can do is cleanse him from my Spotify list and move on with my life.

If there was somebody who genuinely cared about him enough to ask for him to be sectioned maybe he would be but I think he has to be suspected of being a danger to himself or others and I don’t think he had met that threshold (at least that’s what I was told in the UK when I called the paramedics on a former housemate of mine who was schizophrenic and in the midst of a violent episode.)

The point of outrage would be to show solidarity to Jewish people who are scared after over 70 000 people liked Kanye's posts.

Nobody thinks West is not an anti-semite. Not even those who try to “defend” him (such as Dave Chapelle.)

Of course I have shown solidarity to other groups he (and others) have made disgustingly outrageous comments about. Why would you assume otherwise?

I read the headlines about his latest utterances and simply did not have the energy to explore any details. He is totally vile and hopefully there will be no way back from this. I guess he will later say it was his autism and poor mental health that caused him to say these things which is profoundly insulting to the countless others who live with these issues and manage not to be utter pigs

I can’t decide if he is genuinely unwell or if it is all a huge publicity stunt.
