Ear stroking on tube - is it odd?

Travelling on the tube this evening and noticed a that a woman was stroking the ear of man sitting next to her. She was long away from him and her hand was vigorously stroking massaging the ear furthest away from her. This wasn’t gentle stroking but quite vigorous massaging. Both were impassive.
it found it quite unnerving ! No one else seemed to notice and neither of the passengers were making eye contact.
just seemed a bit weird or is it me?

Imagining a woman with one Mr Tickle arm snaking along the back of a row of passengers to this bloke’s ear, and him just sitting there nonchalantly while she goes at it like a bit of dough.

Allthenameshavegone1972 · 02/02/2025 13:04

Aggressive ear massaging, not a phrase you hear every day 😅
And licking a woman's armpit? 🤢
London never gets boring, I love the city!

On my last trip to London I had to sit opposite a male youth with his hands down the front of his trousers, practically cupping his balls. I know it's supposed to be a sign of "gangsta" innit & they're meant to look tough & menacing; but come on lads, you look the complete opposite & like overgrown toddlers with your hands down your trousers for comfort

No chat, no eye contact, just some full on ear massage action. They probably knew each other!

Imagine they don't know each other 🤣

Like Inspector Gadget?

If she had tools, don't you mean inspect her gadget @NormasArse?
It'll be those weird Winbledon village folks again.

The not so dull district line

Oh the District line is the WORST for this sort of stuff 😀

Suddenly I feel the need for a visit to London & a bit of people watching on the Tube. I find this very relaxing thing to do lol. It always amazes me how many people get their thick novels out to read & then leave the train after a couple of short stops. I really couldn't be assed rummaging around in my bag to retrieve the book, get back into the story, as soon as you've read a couple of pages it's your stop 😀

London never gets boring, I love the city!
Within 10 mins of exiting Paddington station someone had cycled past me on a penny-farthing. Normality scale recalibrating!

Allthenameshavegone1972 · 02/02/2025 15:39

@notprincehamlet someone should start a thread on the weird and wonderful things they see in London 😁

I once saw a man walking a mongoose on a lead by the observatory at Greenwich. I asked to give it a little fuss and got the okay. Mongoose gets onto its hind legs and clamps it front paws around my wrist, at which point I’m expecting mongoose teeth to make contact with my wrist bones. Instead it rubbed its little face against me and made a sweet little chirping sound. So cute.

I’ve also seen a man walking with a parrot on his shoulder, but he seemed to be in a rush, so I just admired his parrot from a distance. Also London.

My mate once accidentally stroked a fella's leg on the bus all the way home from Manchester

He never said anything until she realized

🤔

LOL 😂

I love that! I remember leaving Waterloo Station on a freezing cold February day a few years ago. It was snowing heavily and people were shivering in their coats, hats and gloves. A man appeared in front of me, also exiting the station. He was wearing a tiny green vest and tiny green hotpants that left little to the imagination, and high heeled stilletos. His legs were blue with the cold but he shimmied out into the snowy street, looking really pleased with himself. Someone turned to me and said that would make a really good photograph and he wasn't wrong!

Allthenameshavegone1972 · 02/02/2025 18:46

The mind boggles!🤣

I'd expect this sort of behaviour on the Northern line, possibly the central, but not the district line

CerealPosterHere · 02/02/2025 19:09

You see some weird shit on the tube. My favourite was a group of lads in various outfits and one took offence when I thought he was a turtle. Think he said he was a dragon. Then the tiger chased me up the elevator at Kings Cross!

I thought northern line as well.

CerealPosterHere · 02/02/2025 19:13

I’m quite sad I’ve never seen anyone do the tube girl trend on the tube. And i think that trend has passed now so probably never will.

There's a man in Fulham who has two parrots on each shoulder. Walks them everyday.

A mongoose man there too and a couple of pig walkers in Barnes.

You become immune to it in a weird wtf, but I'm too busy to get into it way.

Central London is a whole other circus.
