How drunk would you be after 4 small Proseccos?

Just curious as I can never understand my alcohol tolerance

Not remotely. But half a bottle of white wine would. Tolerance is funny!

Waltdisnerd · 01/02/2025 12:44

Not at all

Dizzybob · 01/02/2025 12:44

It seems as I get older my tolerance has hugely reduced. A couple of years ago I’d have said 4 flutes of Prosecco would have me slightly tipsy, someone not drinking would clock I’d been drinking, but not drunk really and certainly no hangover.
Now however, it’s anyone’s guess how drunk I’d be and I’d definitely at the very least have a banging head the next morning, possibly even being sick.

Thepeopleversuswork · 01/02/2025 12:46

Providing it wasn’t on an empty stomach I wouldn’t be drunk. Approaching merry maybe.

I sure as hell would feel it in the morning though.

Raininginparadise2 · 01/02/2025 12:46

Not at all

Opink · 01/02/2025 12:46

I was ever so slightly tipsy, almost to the point of not being at all.

Yeah it didn’t touch the sides. But I had 2 Henikens the other day and I definitely had a buzz. I don’t drink during the week at home really (maybe for a special occasion) but if I go out for a meal i will definitely enjoy myself.

Im either stone cold sober after having drunk a fair amount of alcohol or tipsy off hardly anything. I can never understand my tolerance.

I generally don't drink at all, maybe three drinks per year?

I think I'd feel a bit tipsy.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 01/02/2025 12:48

Not at all, I tolerate prosecco easily and never get hangovers on it.

4 glasses of wine, I'd be drunk!

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 01/02/2025 12:49

At home - I would be fine.
In company - I would be daft.

StormingNorman · 01/02/2025 12:49

I’d be starting to get a bit woo woo. My alcohol tolerance is tragic 🙈

username299 · 01/02/2025 12:50

I get tipsy very quickly and would be half cut.

GoldenSunflowers · 01/02/2025 12:51

After Dry/Damp January probably pretty drunk.

Nina1013 · 01/02/2025 12:51

I can feel it after half a glass of wine, and I’m pretty drunk after a couple of glasses.

I can, however, drink a LOT of cocktails and not feel or seem even a tiny bit drunk. I think different types of alcohol must affect people differently too.

Deljay · 01/02/2025 12:51

I would be merry on half a bottle of wine in 2 hours. I mean, not head spinning or puking, but definitely glad to go to sleep.

I'm a moderate drinker.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 01/02/2025 12:51

No, but then I've put a lot of effort into 'training' over the years! 🍾🍾🍾🤪

CarliLove35 · 01/02/2025 12:53

I'm not a big drinker and I'd feel pleasantly merry, tipsy, not pissed. 4 glasses of red wine and I would be teetering towards being unpleasantly drunk.

BeCyanSloth · 01/02/2025 12:55

I can’t drink Prosecco it goes straight to my head
I would be very drunk after 4 glasses

crouchendtigerr · 01/02/2025 12:56

Very. I get tipsy after one wine, two is my limit. But I rarely drink these days

JamMonster · 01/02/2025 12:58

Very tipsy with a hangover the next day 😅, I’m petite and don’t drink very often!

Willoo · 01/02/2025 12:58

I wouldn’t even be tipsy

ThatsNotMyTeen · 01/02/2025 12:59

A few years ago I doubt it would have had any impact on me

I don’t drink now so I’d probably be plastered

stayathomer · 01/02/2025 12:59

Floored!!!!

Except that the ABV of Prosecco is usually around 10-11% and wine is usually 14-15% so that's not necessarily true.

Carbonated alcohol speeds up absorption and is absorbed more quickly into the bloodstream, hence making you feel drunk quicker.

Than something with an equivalent ABV, yes. But Prosecco has a lower ABV than wine, which offsets that effect. It's not comparing apples with apples.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 01/02/2025 13:08

Alcohol is strange. One glass of dark rum and I would be sick. 5 sots of Sambucca no problem
Prosecco unless on an empty stomach is fine.
