To think that Rachel Reeves really ought to practice what she preaches?

AIBU reasonable to think that Reeves is being somewhat hypocritical in saying we can learn from Trump’s positivity, and is challenging people to be more positive on the UK’s strengths?

I say that not because she’s drawing on Trump as a positive role model, which is another debate all together, but because of the sheer gall involved in challenging others to be positive when she and the government have been relentlessly downbeat about the UK’s situation since they took power.

Are they beginning to learn what proper leadership is about…? Let’s hope so.

Rachel from accounts stumbled into the job by accident. She’s incompetent and has tanked the economy.

Borrowing is through the roof, gilt yields have gone haywire, economic output is worse than ever, growth is non existent, the country is likely in recession when growth figures are revised, unemployment is up, taxes are higher than ever, inflation is going to start edging up. Just to pour some petrol on the bin fire this government has started, highest rate taxpayers are leaving the country in their tens of thousands.

All of this since Labour took over. They took a bad situation and make it unimaginably worse.

And now Two Tier, Rachel from
accounts and Lamey are dying to lick Trump’s boots, because they trashed him for years. He is in power, in charge of the country that makes 25% of global economy. This shower of idiot are now buzzing around him like flies, begging for forgiveness and trying to get in his good books. It would be funny if it were so tragic to watch Trump humiliate this government.

Edited

Here’s another gem from Rachel from accounts and Two Tier.

The UK has dropped out of the Top 10 manufacturing countries. With the likes of Airbus and Rolls Royce cutting jobs.

And energy into this country which is already the most expensive in the developed world (using the world developed loosely) is likely to get more expensive and Rachel from Accounts bankrolls Red Miliband to the tune of billions of taxpayers cash to piss up the wall.

Still waiting for Labour fanclub to come up with justification of this disaster.

Disappointed with Labour so far. They came in on a wave of enthusiasm and energy as people were so fed up of the Tories. I think that lasted a few days, what are they actually trying to achieve?

They really didn’t come in on a wave of enthusiam, if you look at the voting data, even though they got a thumping great majority it’s clear to see Labour didn’t win the election the Conservatives lost it spectacularly. People weren’t desperate for a Labour government they just knew the Conservatives were awful and had to go.

They’ve then had to try not to say they lied to the electorate in order to win the election and that they knew exactly what they were inheriting and had always planned Robbing Rachel’s massive tax rises.

It’s not surprising to me they’re so unpopular. This isn’t the government the electorate wanted it was seen as being the least worst option.

Hypothetical situation…

One breaks up with a partner after 14 years because you realise that you don’t like them, everything they do irritates and you have just had enough of them not putting you first.
You are dazzled by the promises of someone new - they say all the right things, that they’re nothing like your last partner and too quickly invite them to move into your home.
Once in, rather than take the time to figure out how things work, they blunder in, break the heating, the kitchen and the bathroom but spend your money on their mates, saying that they’ll fix things but hadn’t you realised how broken everything was and what a state your home was in.
They ridicule the things you watch, the things you read and they way you live your life, while fiddling their expenses and constantly moaning what a dump you live in.
They go an all expenses skiing holiday with some mates for a long weekend.
When they come back they blame you for the state of what was functioning home, and then blame you for being too negative about the situation, saying you need to sort it out.

Would anyone tolerate that? Some would be quick to call it gaslighting…

I’d say it was more like breaking up with someone after 14 years - for the right reasons.

Then getting together with the first person who comes along. Not because you think they’re right for you but because they’re the only option and can’t be as bad as the last guy.

I’ve been quite down on the government in this thread but I actually think (and hope, even tho I didn’t vote for them and don’t agree with some of the things they’ve done) that they succeed.

They’re getting all the bad news out the way early doors in the hope that it’ll show results at the time of the next election. We’ll see.

Please can we stop calling her fucking Rachel from Accounts on a forum full of women. It is unimaginably misogynistic.

It isn’t misogyny. It’s the truth. She embellished her CV. If you don’t like stuff like this perhaps steer clear of politics threads.

Britain might have been great had we not sold off every last thing we once owned. They're banging on about an AI revolution, there isn't even a British tech firm in the FTSE100. We couldn't even get our shit together to build a battery factory before it got purchased for pennies by foreigners.

Come up with a proper industrial strategy, Rachel, and then lets talk again. Making it easier for developers to put up shit boxes close to commuter train stations does not make a country great. Your plan for growth appears to be founded solely on housing building. We can't have that bubble bursting, can we? Because then we'll be in the shit up to our necks, rather than just our knees like we are now.

Did you object to the names that Tories were called such as 30p Lee and Maybot?

Nope. Tories were never called names or criticised. The 'MSM' never called them to account, wrote anything negative about them or gave them nicknames.
Now 'the grown ups are in charge' they are having to face criticism in a way no other political party has had to, ever.
Dontchaknow

No, because those could be applied to 30p Leighanne or Keirbot.

But if you must pretend to be too thick to understand my point, in support of a quote from Lee Anderson of Reform whose own CV is questionable at best, then I may as well give up.

What is your point exactly? I must be thick too

Why is it misogynistic? Plenty of men work in accounts.
However, if you prefer, I’ll call her Rachel from customer complaints.
