All inclusive hotel in Spain.

Fancy dress competitions for kids and kids club for general ents etc discos

Some of the male hotel guests putting on drag acts as evening entertainment

Two pools - one indoor / one outdoor

Sharing a dinner table with another guest couple at the hotel

Space invader machines /Pac Man etc

Pool table

VERY predominantly British guests

Hotel is right next to a beach

Plenty of cafes and bowling alleys near by for entertainment

Nice ‘bar’ area where you can also get drinks like milk shakes etc

Courier service so you have the option to go on day trips etc

Hotel guests in general are a bit ‘Phoenix Nights’ iyswim

So, what’s the verdict ?? Y Viva Espana?

Nothing to do with snobbery - if you like the sort of holiday in the OP you’d be bored shitlss on the holidays I enjoy.

I prefer small self catering or B&B apartments with maybe 20 rooms around a pool and snack bar. Then at night I like to find a restaurant that serves fresh cooked home made local dishes followed by sitting outside a bar with a cocktail or glass of wine while I watch the world go by. The only entertainment is a bit of music in
the background. Cheap and cheerful but my idea of bliss.

Youcanpayit · 18/01/2025 20:43

It sounds alright to me, the people sound fun, my tea would be cooked for me and there'd be people for my daughter to hang about with. What hotel is it 🤣

CharlotteCChapel · 18/01/2025 20:44

My idea of hell.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 18/01/2025 20:45

Sounds awful but I'd never use a kids club or go to see a drag act. Other people would. We all like different things. If you like what's on offer, go for it.

Digitalised · 18/01/2025 20:46

Sounds like you are at Holiday Village Benalmadena?

Hanto · 18/01/2025 20:46

It sounds like pure hell to me, but you probably wouldn’t enjoy my holidays either —either way, it’s great you enjoyed it!

daisychain01 · 18/01/2025 20:46

thats "entertainment"?

YourSnugHazelTraybake · 18/01/2025 20:46

I'd enjoy it, and my grandkids would be in 7th heaven! I just enjoy being on holiday to be fair though, AI, self catering, touring, camping, I love the lot! Warm weather and being able to swim regularly and I'm happy, bonus if I don't have to cook.

luckylavender · 18/01/2025 20:47

Not for me

Beekeepingmum · 18/01/2025 20:48

I wouldn't choose it but I would probably enjoy it. Almost every situation is what you make of it.

FishPie2 · 18/01/2025 20:48

Catza · 18/01/2025 18:27

Not really. What's the point of going to Spain? Sound like a British caravan park holiday to me.

What's the point of going to Spain ? Have you ever been because if you haven't you don't know what you are missing. Not all sun, sand and sangria.

Greyish2025 · 18/01/2025 20:49

Honestly wouldn’t like it at all

BeAzureAnt · 18/01/2025 20:50

Not to my taste, but I hope you enjoy your holiday wherever you decide to go.

Branleuse · 18/01/2025 20:55

I think id enjoy it.
It wouldnt be my first choice of holiday but if it was warm and i could swim then id be happy

dappledeverglade · 18/01/2025 20:57

I like to choose different restaurants to try local ingredients and cuisine. Visiting local villages and towns, as I enjoy history.
Beaches are for an evening walk or a swim only. You said it was the best, so that’s all that matters. If it has all the elements for you, then maybe one day you can go back!

Parker231 · 18/01/2025 20:58

I don’t want to hear English voices on holiday or have English food and entertainment.

Lookingatthesunset · 18/01/2025 21:01

I grew up going on these types of holidays. Some of my best childhood memories are being in all inclusive resorts in Benidorm, Ibiza and Canary Islands. Proper working class holidays. 3 star hotels, outrageous entertainment and my dad filling my suitcase up with cigarettes to bring back home cause Nothing to Declare would never search mine.

Never heard of sharing dining tables with other random guests though what’s all that about?

So funny reading all the snobby comments on here.

I don't see anything remotely amusing but I am glad you are being entertained?!! Or "snobby"??

Most people have their own preference re their holidays. Not everyone likes the same thing!

I hope so OP 😃 we met so many amazing people on our “ghastly” holidays. Real salt of the Earth people. Amazing memories and anecdotes from 20 years ago our family still laugh about today. It’s what life is all about.

We have memories and anecdotes of our family holidays too. Just different ones! We all love a city break actually.

I actually have a flat in Spain so thank you for your cultural perls of wisdom.. It's not all pool, karaoke and full English breakfast either.

SweedieLie · 18/01/2025 21:11

I think there is quite a snobbish attitude towards the OP’s holiday that I find distasteful

I think some of the comments are hilarious. The 'omg I'd rather go to prison' crowd 😂 . And the lady who was insulted a couple thought she looked the type to go on an AI holiday because she was staying in a small hotel in the City don't you know 😂😂

Many on MN are so uptight when it comes to holidays and I don't get it. We've been on two AI's this year...one just dh and me for 4 nights in Spain, second us and DC for a fortnight in Greece.

Both had some great entertainment and some questionable. Same with the people and the food 👀😂 But we spent time together, we swam, went on boat trips, sat and chatted in the sun, had waterslide races, made it our mission to feed up some local feral cats, taught some Welsh to the local Spanish/Greek barmen 😁 And we spent every day together, laughed ourself to tears many times and argued over card games on the balcony.

Not a museum or castle in sight and we survived 😁.

Nonaynevernomore · 18/01/2025 21:11

Not for me….

Sassybooklover · 18/01/2025 21:13

God no. That's my idea of a holiday nightmare! 😱

katepilar · 18/01/2025 21:15

YANBU to ask.
I would absolutely not enjoy this.

You can do all that on any kind of holiday if you want!

Personally when I spend my money on travelling, I want to see some of the place I've travelled to! Seems like a waste otherwise.

What's wrong with saying you don't want to do AI? I don't want to be tied to the same place all the time - I want to try new places!

CharityShopChic · 18/01/2025 21:19

Spain fine, all-inclusive fine. Wouldn't want to watch a drag act or share a table for food.

When was this holiday? 2024, 1994 or 1974?
