£20,000 offered in search for parents of three abandoned babies https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckg00m1mv3eo

It seems quite likely to me that she is in a position of vulnerability and in need of a lot of help. For three pregnancies with no ensuing baby to go unnoticed by everyone around her suggests she may be held against her will. Also, they need to be able to get the third baby into an adoption situation asap to give her as much security as possible. Really hope someone comes forward - perhaps the reward will help.

£20,000 reward offered as police search for parents of three abandoned babies

Police appeal for information relating to three babies abandoned by the same parents shortly after birth in east London. A reward of £20,000 is also being offered by Crimestoppers.

Agree that this woman needs to be found as she is clearly in dire need of help. Hate to think what her life may be like.

oakleaffy · 18/01/2025 08:07

Those poor children- It doesn’t say what ethnicity the parents are- this might help narrow the search down a little?
It’s concerning that contraception isn’t being used, and the mother is likely giving birth without any medical intervention-
It says they have a full DNA profile of the mother.

Crazy that the siblings aren’t able to have a relationship because of the police investigation.

Ponoka7 · 18/01/2025 08:08

I don't understand why their ethnic background isn't being publicised. The child's adoption should be a priority.

Nonaynevernomore · 18/01/2025 08:09

Oh what a worrying situation.

What on earth is that mother going through.

GretchenWienersHair · 18/01/2025 08:10

It sounds like the mother must be in an absolutely horrific situation. I hate to think what could be going on here.

Exactly that.

Very puzzling , especially as they have a full DNA profile of the mother.

It does say that, but I am confident that sibling contact will be going on. It's probably the case that the adopters of the siblings would like to adopt her too and can't because of the delay.

AtlasPine · 18/01/2025 08:14

I agree about the ethnicity thing. It might help. That area of London is hugely diverse - I used to teach there and the vast majority of the students were from minority backgrounds, Black and Asian as well as Eastern European. They must know something of the babies’ heritage from the DNA.

I guess allowing the two older ones to have their sister with them but then for her to leave for any reason would be traumatising for them. I think they were adopted by the same family. Hopefully, she can join them and one day they get to know who their birth parents were.

My thoughts are unfortunately that this might be someone held captive, so very sad and how do you even begin to find her?

I hope that sibling contact is going on- These children will need each other in later life to try and make sense of their early abandonment.

Hope their mother is found soon.

AtlasPine · 18/01/2025 08:17

Just read that they are Black but that covers so many heritages. Something more specific must be known.

I think this woman is in a terrible predicament.

I think they released that she and the basis were black, when the news came out that there had been 3 babies each with the same set of parents abandoned?

ETA: X-posted on the heritage.

It’s a frightening thought.
If she’s prisoner in a house somewhere she may be suffering from “Stockholm syndrome”to even try to cry out for help.

A lone man carrying food to the house won’t be suspicious to neighbours- In a city people don’t tend to notice who is living around them( apart from immediate neighbours).

parietal · 18/01/2025 08:24

If the baby was found at 1 hr old, then it can't be the mum who is abandoning the baby - leaving the house less than an hour after giving birth does not seem likely. There could be a situation where an abused and imprisoned woman gives birth and the abuser is taking the babies. I think they should be focusing on finding the father through DNA. The mother might not be able to leave the house.

I agree. Sad
I do hope the police make a breakthrough very soon.
It's the father's DNA that is crucial to the case imo.

Butchyrestingface · 18/01/2025 14:06

Could be a Joseph Fritzl type situation. Just awful. Hope the babies are being well taken care of.

kellysjowls · 19/01/2025 14:24

The issue is if the father of the babies who is very likely holding the mother captive feels the police are getting closer, who knows what he may do.
Even if the police can't find him, what happens to the next baby? He may decide another abandoned baby isn't worth the risk of being caught and then there's a real danger of harm coming to the next new born Sad
I pray the mother is found quickly, the police hopefully do know the specific ethnicity (even if they don't release that info to the armchair detectives/true crime podcasters) and hopefully she'll be found soon. They need to up their game and find her. Presumably she's been trafficked and existing in god knows what conditions

theilltemperedqueenofspacetime · 15/05/2025 09:08

This story is back in the headlines - police say they've narrowed the area of the search to 400 dwellings. I wonder if this announcement could put the woman at heightened risk.

Terrible woman-blaming headline in the DM:

I too worry @theilltemperedqueenofspacetime
that the mother will now be at heightened risk.
Heartbreaking.

Why are you bringing benefits into this? Did you mean to imply that only people claiming benefits are capable of abandoning a child?

paranoiaofpufflings · 15/05/2025 20:18

I live very local to this case. I’m pleased it’s picking up wider attention.
It has been shared before that the babies are black, but as far as I know, no more specific than that.
I have also read that the siblings, all three, are fostered separately but the older two were having contact with each other. This was because they were fostered before it was known they were siblings.
Also from bits and pieces I’ve read previously, and putting two and two together, I believe it’s strongly suspected that it is the mother leaving the babies, so that leads me to think she is giving birth out of the home, leaving the babies and going off. The police being interviewed on this case today talked about a comparison to women who give birth in war zones and how that gives them the adrenaline to be able to walk away to safety to give birth.
This poor mother is clearly in a desperate and probably dangerous situation. I hope they find her soon for her own sake.

OperationalSupport · 15/05/2025 20:19

What have benefits got to do with anything?
This woman appears to have had no prenatal care or medical attention over (at least) 3 pregnancies. I fear that she is in a terrible situation, and hope that the recent efforts to find her able her to get to a safe place.

Libby360 · 15/05/2025 20:33

This was a well thought out thing where someone made sure the babies were abandoned somewhere where they themselves couldn't be traced on CCTV. I'm worried too that the father is carefully abandoning the babies and there is something terribly wrong going on with the mum.
