Okay, so I know that military life and being the wife or partner of someone in the armed forces is nothing like the fantasy. Nonetheless, I find the idea of hot military guys a huge turn-on. AIBU?

I defo understand the appeal of a 'real man'. I work in the construction sector and much prefer the company of practical guys over men named Rupert who talk a lot about golf, red wine, and fine cheeses. 😂

I’m definitely coming to appreciate people - men and women - with strong problem solving drive, plus confidence and tenacity to apply it. And people who have been in the military almost all tend to have this practical, can-do, aptitude. It is attractive.

Oh dear. There doesn't seem to be a lot of love for military types here. My get-out clause is that I said I like the 'idea' of hot military guys, which isn't necessarily the same thing as the reality.

Admittedly, my contact with military people has been somewhat limited. I had occasion to work with a bunch of Royal Marines Commandos a few years ago and generally found them to be bright, courteous, apparently well balanced and, dare I say, very fine looking. That's probably what triggered my 'interest'.

I like military men but it's what I grew up with so I am most likely to be biased by nurture rather than nature. At my age though it's just wistful thinking these days 😆
