No I don't think I am but I need to rant!
I just asked him to do this, explaining that I am going to have trouble paying my rent soon and he said 'but that will leave me with nothing!' and started getting annoyed!! With me!
He doesn't pay anything towards dd as it is as he is on long term sick! OMFG he just takes the piss!
He said we will talk about it tomorrow when he picks dd up - cue a big row that will no doubt end badly. I have tried to avoid all confrontations since we split despite the fact that he has been a complete at times - but this I am not backing down on
moral support needed - don't let me wimp out at 11am tomorrow!

xenia - do you mean that my inheritance would/should have been half his anyway?

Soooooo he's just picked dd up and now I have a living room full of equipment - now row, barely any words. I'm glad thats over - a battle half won do you think?

I just hope he doesn't bare this grudge against me for too long and keep on trying to make me feel guilty. Strangely despite this I still feel a bit sorry for him

I had better start researching this stuff to make sure I can get the best price possible for it...

he's not got a penny! If I waited for the money it would probably take a good couple of years, I'm not kidding. I need money soon!

Take him to small claims court for the debt.

"xenia - do you mean that my inheritance would/should have been half his anyway?"

If anyone inherits money, wins the lottery, earns £1m a year or whatever during a long marriage that is part of the marital pot and the starting point is a 50/50 split. So yes whoever the inheritance came from it goes into the pot to be divided. It's different if it's a short marriage or if you're not married or if there is very little money and the person who the children will live with (which is not necessarily the woman) needs more than 50% to house the children (which usually they do).

thank you xenia.
Well I have his gear now and after a bit of research I reckon I can get about £2000 nearly which leaves a shortfall of £1000 - I'll just cut my losses I think.
The money I'll get will see me through what I need if for and since he dropped it off I've had a barrage of abusive texts telling me how selfish I am . I just don't need it anymore.
This money will top me up for the next 6 months and by that time he might have himself a job and can pay some maintenance (i won't hold my breath tho!)

What is the equipment? I am a musician and might be interested, if not might well know other people who would be?

Hi WDICUHF - I love the name! I'm always saying that! heehee! It was ok, he was making a huge effort with dd, very sweet! BUT, I decided that after 3 dates now, he isn't really doing it for me eeek! Fab guy, ticks all the sensible boxes but not enough spark between us. I told him, in a really nice way of course, today and he said he kind of expected it.. oh well!

I'm glad you got all the stuff Cath, well done

tribpot · 04/05/2008 20:03

Well done you - hope you can recoup your 2K without too much hassle. As for the texts - that shows it's working. The worm has turned and he no longer has control. As before, just ignore it and don't reply - you are too busy planning to how to sell his gear!

Let the power of Mumsnet be with you.

misscathcart · 04/05/2008 20:16

thanks guys.
I have the power!
