I cannot believe that this lad is going to spend a year in prison- yes, I know that’s the law there, he should have known better etc, etc
I hope that the girl’s mother is ashamed of her actions.
I don’t want to think what the impact will be on Marcus 😥

@nogginatemycat I have no trouble grasping facts. What I find incomprehensible is your cruelty.

Edited

Well if you find facts cruel then unfortunatly I cannot help you. You need to accept the world is not all unicorns and rainbows and actions have real world consequences.

The problem now days, some belive no one can be wrong and no one needs to be held accountable for their actions.

Christ, this thread and its rampant callousness and racism masquerading as incontrovertible truth. I've had to wade through it all, as I was hoping someone might have posted ways in which those of us with compassion and intelligence could support this boy - petitions, donations? If anyone comes cross any, could you please post them, and ideally @ me, so I don't have to read any more of this retrograde, despicable bullshit? Thank you.

Thankfully it only seems to be the same two vocal posters.

Tbh I don’t think a petition will make a blind bit of difference, David Lammy, it seems, does not give a shit.

Yup. Best to ignore the posters, they thrive on the attention - it’s sad really.

Your description of the boy isn't a "fact" - it is you being disgusting.

Yes and addressed the blatant human rights violations.

At 18, he is legally seen as an adult (Man) and is legally responsible for his own behavior instead of his parents. So no he is not a boy as you put it.

NewGreenDuck · 30/12/2024 15:31

And it wasn't his heart that ruled his head. He saw the chance of sex and took it.

As did the (now adult) woman! She wasn't coerced! Some vile people on this thread

This thread is fucking horrible. A young working class British man made a mistake on holiday and the no doubt well educated middle class MN posters here think he deserves a year in prison. Does he fuck. I wonder how many of you defending Dubai are saving yourselves a lot of tax by working their system? Morals and empathy soon go up in a cloud of smoke when you are tainted by the oil money eh? Think what you are defending for a moment? You are defending a young man for having consensual sex with a willing partner on holiday. Have none of you ever got carried away? made a teenage mistake?
The casual and callous cruelty shown on this thread makes me think very hard about how my black children would be treated if they made a mistake which hurt no one.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

What an evil woman the girl's mother is.

I posted a link to the fundraiser @Karmaisagod but it’s been hidden.

Check Radha Stirling’s twitter, there’s a link to the official page on there. Or google his name and hers and fundraiser

Why has it been hidden? Did someone report it 🤨

AccountCreateUsername · 30/12/2024 19:25

I think it was because I posted a link to a fundraiser @ChristmasCardi
It happened the second I posted.

He is the same age as my ds and I just cannot imagine him in a Dubai prison. Jesus. One of my friends loves Dubai holidays. She says you are treated as if you are a princess and it’s a feeling of having staff.

A genealogy website - where are other posters getting their information from?

The genealogy websites get the info from the registry, don't they?

Why did you decide to look him up?

I would be very careful if I were you. Comments like this could be read as an incitement to commit crime.

No one here knows what really happened. Maybe the girl’s mother had good reason to report the incident.

I imagine it is because the young man is black - which is a fucking disgusting 'reason'

I'm comfortable calling a school-aged male a "boy" - which isn't a term with a legal definition in the UK.

PandoraSox · 30/12/2024 19:28

This thread has been an eye opener. It really has. I hope somehow Marcus is brought home soon.

Delatron · 30/12/2024 19:29

I think it’s just two posters who have zero empathy. They just happen to be very vocal. Most of us are upset and horrified.

You sound very naive if you are 'horrified'

Yep, yet people still like to pretend the uk doesn’t have a racism problem
