I have been on another mothering forum, which is VERY "sweet" and "mama" and "fun" and "hun"
I've had threads deleted, and will be chucked off soon I'm sure, even tho I'm not being rude, just disagreeing.
I've had TWO warnings, GUESSING that I'm someone here( they've only assumed I'm the same person, as I've never said it).
That's an assumed accusation isn't it?
I suppose it could be libelous if they don't have proof I'm the person they think I am.

Anyway, it's the cheek of being told that their site can't be talked about here!

Are they being reasonable?

FFS, they have a forum titled "babywearing".

I have this image of barmy American's modeling babies on their heads like hats.

I know. Talk about turning babies into objects/fashion accessory.

northernrefugee39 · 02/05/2008 17:52

"They have probably circulated your details to Interpol."

Babywearing?
OMG

I'll add my tuppence-worth.

People coming onto MN for the first time, after all these 'forum-wars' may think everyone is terribly horrible to eachother. There is lots of challenging going on, and if you can't take it, it can seem mean.

The first couple of days I ventured onto MN I felt a bit scared to say anything, as I thought I might just get flamed. Someone disagreed to something I said once and I took it personally.....
However, now, a few weeks in, and I am actually waiting for someone to challenge something I say, to be ever-so-slightly mean (how sick is that?? ). I get disappointed if noone wants to challenge something.... If I am not challenged, or sworn at(!), I can't have said anything particularly interesting!!....

....because, I realised, this is not real life! 'One' comes on here for the support and help and advice, but also for a bit of bloody fun!!
How often can someone have a really good debate, really disagree, really thrash things out, and not have to worry that so-and-so won't speak to you again. We are using these sites because we know there are others with different opinions out there, and we want to hear them!

There is masses of support in MN, masses of good advice, help, conversation, and loads of sensible information from all walks of life. But there are people making me think too!!, justify myself! That is why I chose to stick around.

The only thing is, and I have never used any other sites-nor intend to-, I cannot for the life of me understand why there are people using any other? If the pettiness and sensitivities of others on other forums bothers you, don't go. There's enough going on here, so why? And then, why bother coming back here and moaning that the other sites are no good? Pointless, time-consuming, and although amusing, it's all been done before!

I think I'm about to be kicked off because in just posted a piece by Steiner about "gnome language" and gnomes pushing plants up from the ground in the bio dynamic gardening section

Oh Bergen that is such a great post.
mumsnet is like a good few glasses round the table, and at the others no one drinks.

I went on this particular forum because there are anthros there and I want to hear their views. I want to see if they will actually speak about the belief system we were caught up in.
And that's genuine.
But I like a good discussion/debate too.ffs or I wouldn't go.
(There aren't any here.)

lol at motherfkers.com

Janni · 02/05/2008 18:17

I think we should do a mass infiltration of 'Mothering', using the language and style of heated debate found on MN. A disapproving email from them could be a badge of honour.

Asbo mums.

northernrefugee39 · 02/05/2008 18:22

Would anyone call it flaming then, to go to a site and try and get views from someone, even if they were different from your own?

I'm really trying to understand anthroposophy, and surely the way to do that, is try and talk/discuss non confrontationally with someone who holds that belief?

I mean, Richard Dawkins isn't accused of flaming, when he tries to find out about religion.

My family were affected by this pseudo religion, and as my anger subsides, i genuinely want to piece things together, and understand why they tried to indoctrinate outr children.

i am monogamous to MN. i don't understand tittle tattle about other site's.if you go to FluffyMummy.com and don't like it or get deleted - fair enough...just don't viist again.

northernrefugee39 · 02/05/2008 18:44

Oh God - anthroposophical belief about gnomes, I've only just seen this, there's a whole book about how gnomes store plants and guard them in the ground, they store the secrets of the universe too.

And they have a gnome language
Oh ffs.

OP posts:
northernrefugee39 · 02/05/2008 18:46

Turniphead, it would cause a stirr for sure.

But they probably deserve it.

there's little point in trying to discuss with people who won't discuss.

But when their belief truly involves "gnome language" I'm not sure I want to go there.

northernrefugee39 · 02/05/2008 18:50

Scottish, the discussion on The Green Parent was deleted because they were threatened with a law suit apparently, and I have a good idea who threatened them.
That was a good discussion, it had alot of people in agreement, a good feel and no animosity.
The anthroposophists didn't like their dirty laundry being aired, that was the reason.

On the US site, they don't like even getting their laundry out.
Keep on wearing it.
it's probably felt anyway.
EUGHHH, felt bras

OP posts:
northernrefugee39 · 02/05/2008 18:50

Do you think they wear felt thongs over there?
