Who gives a flying fuck?

👍

There's also a royal board somewhere to accommodate this kind of tedious dross.

Rightsraptor · 17/12/2024 15:36

It isn't a Christmas card, it's a 'Happy Holidays' card. (How I loathe that expression).

If you have a photo of your family on it, why not have the family actually visible?

I admire them for keeping their childrens faces away from the media. There is nothing incomprehensibly inconsistent about that. They always said that's what they'd do.

The kids would be picked to pieces if more of them were shown.

I totally agree. I think they're doing a fantastic job keeping their kids out of the public eye, and it can't be easy to do on a continuous basis. As public figures, it's probably the greatest gift they can give their children at this point.

But then why this photo?? What's the point? I can only conclude that inclusion of this photo is meant to indicate their family-friendly props, or show people that their children love them and miss them when they're gone. And wtf is that about, for a work/business card? Like so much of what they do (a show about Polo that Harry's not in, an ARO launch that went nowhere, big announcement that Meghan's podcast is moving to a new platform and then nothing, 40x40 which trailed off into obscurity and went nowhere, Meghan marching with wounded veterans at Invictus in Hermes slides and linen shorts etc etc etc) it makes no sense to the outside world and you can only think there's an internal logic/point that only they are privy to. Which leads to more inconsistency: why publicize this then?! It's just a waste of time (my general conclusion about everything to do with this couple) - so I'm off to do my supermarket shopping now!

It's sort of their brand, isn't it? Just as it's the RF's brand.

Did you say the same about William and Catherine’s card? Are they also horrible, horrible people?

You wish the news would stop but you keep clicking the links. You’re not fooling anyone.

Who am I trying to fool? I'm stating an opinion. Wasn't aware I was trying to fool people!

William and Kate aren't no-contact with every member of their family, nor did they give interviews targeting their families and full of lies while grandparents were dying, nor have they refused to let any of the grandparents meet their grandchildren, nor have they publically accused their families if racism, nor have they broken off former marriages by sending back rings...I could go on and on.

You say 'this photo' like this is the only photo of their kids? There at least 20 pictures of the kids, some of the backs of their heads, some of the sides etc.

Why do you think this picture is inconsistent?

So because Harry and Meghan don't have much to do their families they're not allowed to be proud of their kids and share pictures of them?

I'm not even going to bother with the rest of your post. Are you even listening to the venom you're spewing?

She may have been ,but I think she also used the interview to manipulate the public ,I watched it at the time she was very keen to get her side of the story across.

Well, yes. She would be. As would anyone who'd been wound up by the likes of Bashir.

The interview was a car crash and I don't think she should have done it, but I understand why she did. And it was partly a riposte for Charles saying in his book that he'd never loved her, and admitting to infidelity in a TV interview. He shouldn't have done those things, either.

Charles also collaborated in a book slagging off his parents. Diana was itching to say thoe things she said in that interview. The tapes she did for the Andrew Morton book were virtually identical to what she said to Bashir.

Spewing venom? That's melodramatic, not to mention inaccurate. I stated a list of facts about the actions of Harry and Meghan. You don't like those facts, and criticising me for listing them isn't going to change them.

Prince Philip was on his deathbed as the Oprah interview happened. At the time, Meghan said she could "see no reason" to delay the interview. And the interview was full of bare-faced lies, such as the porker about the Archbishop of Canterbury marrying them in their garden three days before their wedding!

They have been so horrible to so many people close to them. They are proven liars, they refuse to let Meghan's dad near them, and even the severe age and illness of Harry's grandparents didn't halt them even for short time. I really, really don't understand how you can support them.

You’ve just posted more hearsay, no facts.

Care to explain why you think because Harry and Meghan don't have much to do their families they're not allowed to be proud of their kids and share pictures of them?

theblackandwhite · 17/12/2024 16:06

People seem to forget that when they were being paid a hundred million dollars, they were VERY happy to include photos of their kids, they were not worried about privacy then.

It's not hearsay. The Bishop said afterwards that it wasn't true that he married them before the wedding. The timing of the Oprah interview and Prince Philip's death are also facts.

About the photos, I don't think I said that they shouldn't share photos of their kids. I said either release photos of them or don't, but photos of their backs and hiding their faces looks strange. And if the card is a work card, as some have said, why is there a family photo on there? Why can't they just put out a normal card? The RF doesn't need to showcase their good works on their Xmas cards.

TheKeatingFive · 17/12/2024 16:08

Meghan said she could "see no reason" to delay the interview

Where is that officially attributed to Meghan because I wasnt aware she made any comment. I doubt they had any sway over the scheduling of a major US tv channel anyway.

As for the wedding, it's obvious that she meant that in some more personal sense. Ridiculous to get het up about that.

Thomas Markle sold his daughter out to the media. I would t have anything to do with him either.

It doesn’t mean how many they have included, they are their kids and you’re not entitled to anything beyond what the parents are willing to share.

You said ‘they’re horrible, horrible people’ for having a family photo on it.

Yet you don’t think William and Catherine are ‘horrible, horrible people’ for including pictures of their own kids.

Its utter hypocrisy.

It's more than a tad ironic that Meghan has cut off her father for selling her out, when she and her gormless husband sold out his family.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree, did it.

People don't just comment they rip apart everything they do and then start on their children.

I can't understand it, I take very little notice of the royal family and can't get my head round being in any way interested or invested what they are all up to. And before someone comes along with "and yet here you are" and "why are you commenting?" which seems to be the standard response to comments like mine, I am reading the thread in an attempt to try and find out why they inspire such intense opinions.

I think you've misunderstood me. I wrote:

If it's corporate why do they have a family photo on it?

[NEW PARAGRAPH]

They're just horrible, horrible people, and I wish the news would stop covering them.

My comment about them being horrible wasn't anything to do with the card. It was a comment about them in general, an opinion gleaned from watching them hurt their families so much over the years, and saying that the RF and the British are racist.
