If it’s a business/corporate card, why have a photo of your family on it?

If you have a photo of your family
on it, why not have the family actually visible? We see more of the dogs’ faces than the humans’. What’s the point of blurry images of the backs of people? Are we supposed to revel in how overjoyed the parents are to have their children run to see them?

If it’s a work/business card, why not have it be about the actual work/business? This is six photos of Harry and Meghan in various poses, I wouldn’t know what their foundation or the production company has done by looking at it. Maybe there’s stuff on the back of it. Or maybe it’s because they haven’t done any work? I know they went to Colombia and Nigeria this year, but no clue what work or philanthropic endeavours they pursued there, and this card does nothing to dispel the suspicion that both trips were an exercise in self-publicity (does anyone else know what they were meant to be masquerading as?).

As for “from the office of…”. Some things do NOT translate well. And they need to, given he’s a Prince of the realm, she only ever goes by duchess and they went out of their way to secure Prince/Princess for their children. If they want the American market and people, drop the titles because they have the opposite effect here (in the US). If they want the U.K. market, “the office of…” is cringe.

It’s like everything with these two: incomprehensibly inconsistent. Makes no sense. An unclear branding exercise and transparent self-promotion from a couple who so publicly claimed to want privacy and to be a private family out of the public eye.

I think the picture of harry with the man in hospital seems a bit off for a Christmas card.

It’s so performative and smug

People getting overly defensive over a family they have never met and never will 🤷‍♀️

I don't like online bullying in general. I have never met Meghan but I find the vitriol against someone you've never met and never will very uncomfortable.

It's not ok. Why does it make you feel better to bitch about them?

Do you think so? How interesting...

I think their pathetic attempts to stay in the public eye are way more embarrassing, personally.

Of course they are going to be commented on. That's what they want!! They thrive on the attention!

Why shouldn't people create threads on people they don't know, if they are putting themselves out there??!

I admire them for keeping their childrens faces away from the media. There is nothing incomprehensibly inconsistent about that. They always said that's what they'd do.

The kids would be picked to pieces if more of them were shown.

TheKeatingFive · 17/12/2024 14:16

from a couple who so publicly claimed to want privacy

They never actually said that though. They wanted to step away from royal life and they wanted their children kept from the public eye, but they never said they wanted that for themselves.

AlexP24 · 17/12/2024 14:17

I think most sane people will agree that the Oprah interview was the kiss of death to any likeability they may have had....they have proved themselves cruel and narcissistic..and I don't think how they treated the Queen in particular can ever be forgiven. Everything they do annoys me - if I never hear from them again it will be too soon...

Is a christmas card a pathetic attempt to stay in the public eye? Are cards banned? Is that just for them? Didn't know that.

If that's how you feel then don't give them any attention. Ignore. Job done.

Why do you go on a thread and post about them then? Don't get it.

ps. hope you are not puking or vomiting, a couple of posters were just by hearing their names.

It bears every relevance.

They are putting themselves out there in the public eye for public consumption and using titles given to them as members of the RF when they have distanced themselves from that family.

Hypocritical, wouldn't you say, if you weren't so stoically defending the two grifters??!

This is total revisionism. People were like this towards them long before Oprah.

Well, to be fair, they've done everything they possibly can to put themselves on front of the public and up for scrutiny. And they've got pretty rich doing it. Don't paint they to be some hard done family just trying to get on with their lives with as little fuss and exposure as possible.

Is a Christmas card this?

Weird. Lots of people guilty of this then... other members of the royal family for instance

Most people weren't.

I wasn't. Oprah was a massive turning point. I always really liked Harry and I hoped he would be happy with Meghan.

Difference is, other members of the RF are working members.

Correct me if I am wrong, but of the remainder of the family, who puts out a card like this other than the King & Queen, and the Waleses? I haven't seen any others.

I find this very hard to believe, but knock yourself out with whatever version of the story helps you.

If you don't like them, ignore them. You are not required to give them any attention. The media would cease to cover them if people like you didnt click on the links.

Yeah but not all of them did a netflix series, a controversial 'spill the beans' autobiography and an interview with Oprah.
