What do you do if you want a Christmas jumper but every single one makes you feel like a volcano ready to erupt😂??? Every year I search for a sleeveless one to put over a white shirt or something, but I can't find anything!! A proper one, not just Fair Isle - I want Father Christmas, I want snowmen, I want Christmas puddings and Christmas trees. I just don't want to boil!! Anyone seen any?

What about the top from some Xmas PJs?

lljkk · 15/12/2024 10:58

why not wear a lightweight mostly cotton t-shirt instead? There are lots of short sleeve Xmas theme t-shirts.

BlueRidgeMountain · 15/12/2024 10:59

Last couple of years I’ve gone for a sweatshirt variety, since anything wool makes me itch, flush up and boil to death!

Petergriffinschins · 15/12/2024 10:59

Christmas t shirt or Christmas dress? All of the dresses I see are pretty thin material.

Octavia64 · 15/12/2024 10:59

I went for t shirts instead.

IndustrialActionAhoy · 15/12/2024 11:00

I'd get a t-shirt as well, bet there's loads of choice.

lazyarse123 · 15/12/2024 11:03

Christmas T shirts are great.

I am a big lady and found the men's sizes were roomier so less chance of boiling and usually cheaper especially Asda and Morrisons. No need to spend hih end for one week.

Christmas jumpers are the work of the devil. Who in the world sits in a room as hot as hades, oven on, and the heat of a thousand relatives and thinks, "Im so glad i encased myself in a big thick scratchy blend of wool and nylon with a hilarious light up nose gadget on the front"? There is NO comfortable Christmas jumper. None. Get some flashing Christmas tree earrings and a santa hat instead.

NorthernSpirit · 15/12/2024 11:14

Get a sweatshirt design.

Every single jumper now seems to be acrylic (despite some of them having huge price tags). Not only can you not breath in them you are likely to scratch yourself to death with all the man made fibres.

HelloCheekyCat · 15/12/2024 11:15

Primark have a couple of Christmas sweater vests/tank tops
i have a Christmas t shirt (it’s years old now though!) so that might still be a thing

ETA I have a Christmas sweatshirt from M&S & DH has a hoody from Zavvi this year

JoyeuxNarwhal · 15/12/2024 11:20

My fave currently is a cotton lightweight sweatshirt one. If you'd prefer jumper style you could get a long sleeve t shirt?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/12/2024 11:28

Christmas long sleeved tee?

AlmostFingDone · 15/12/2024 11:33

I’ve got a long sleeved Christmas top, can’t cope with a jumper!

Sourisblanche · 15/12/2024 11:37

Fair isle cardigan over a lightweight top so you can remove the cardigan?

It’s so mild today I’ve got a shortsleeved top on with a little cardigan when needed.

Same, sweatshirt all the way!

Nottodaty · 15/12/2024 11:40

I just wear a Christmas t-shirt..can’t be doing with jumpers full regardless of the material

CitiesInDust · 15/12/2024 11:41

I have a range. Christmas blouse, and then sheer but sequinned jumper and then full on chenille (not wool) jumper. Vinted is good if you have the time to look.

If I wore wool I'd be scratching myself to bits.

I don't find Christmas jumpers too hot as I tend to run cold in spite of veing menopausal- I have a thermal vest under mine too!

TwoLeggedGrooveMachine · 15/12/2024 11:53

Another vote for sweat shirt style. I’m on HRT so temp control is ok but hate scratchy knits. Always had sensory issues with clothes.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The thin dressy ones from Next are about the only ones I can bear!

Drivingoverlemons · 15/12/2024 12:08

I don’t have a Christmas jumper… I am too fussy about material, don’t like sweatshirts, don’t suit T-shirts and I can’t justify £100+ on an eg cashmere Christmas jumper. Which would probably not really be a Christmas jumper in the needing to be a bit ridiculous sense. I am probably overthinking this.

IndustrialActionAhoy · 15/12/2024 12:10

I love fairisle jumpers - they look festive, but you can wear them all winter. I've seen t- shirts that copy the fairisle design.

stillawip · 15/12/2024 12:13

Fabulous ideas, thank you ladies!! I shall get searching……

I have a vintage cashmere jumper that’s bright red. It manages to be lovely and warm outside but not atall sweaty inside. I always think the colour is really festive. Possibly you could get something nice on vinted come January when people sell off their worn once Christmas purchases.
