To say those who vape in shops…

…are scummy scruffy tramps?

Same goes for vaping in any other indoor public space which is non smoking. Are they so stupid to think it’s actually allowed? Or are they just belligerent skanks who have no sense of respect for anyone else?

It’s grim enough walking into those stinky poison clouds outside but at least they’re outdoors but inside- eugh it’s just rough.

rant over 😏

What is Mumsnets obsession with moaning about vapes and calling them adult dummies? Never heard it anywhere else.

Tbf neither are nice.

CranfordScones · 28/11/2024 23:32

I was hoping that vaping would be a fad, but it seems some people really are intent on walking around in a cherry scented fug. And vape shops presumably make a good living from the money they launder...

@MaloryJones delightful and insightful comment.

Makes me laugh when people are so judgemental about children having dummies or sucking thumbs and they are surgically attached to sucking on a vape.

I doubt there’s much crossover between the people who frown on dummies and the people who vape.

EvilsElsasPetSnowman · 28/11/2024 23:59

YANBU. Selfish, scummy pricks. I’ve seen it in children’s play centres!. I challenge them or tell a member of staff

EvilsElsasPetSnowman · 29/11/2024 00:01

Also I prefer the smell of cigarette smoke to sickly vape smells. Cigarette smoke somehow makes me nostalgic

Teenagerantruns · 29/11/2024 00:01

Last two times l have been on a plane people were vaping, one long haul one just to Spain. I'm a smokers if l can get on a plane for12 hours without smoking, I'm sure they manage not to vape, cabin crew could have cared less.
I'm just going to get a vape next time and do what l like

I think we have found who vapes in shops 🤣

So uptight to not expect others to be selfish
pricks.

Why pretend vaping is my thing other than scummy?

Stichintime · 29/11/2024 00:09

OP, I put YABU purely because of the language you used. People are not the scum if the earth because they vape, reserve that for the abusers, scammers etc.
I must be fortunate that I don't smell the fug, but agree vapers should be considerate to others, just like smokers should.

I'd be very surprised if this is a combination you've witnessed more than once. If that.

It sounds like you just thought "wouldn't it be hypocritical if someone............"

ArticWillow · 29/11/2024 00:15

RobertaFirmino · 28/11/2024 22:11

Is the vapour poisonous then?

Yep, the sickly sweet stink is a migraine trigger. I think I red somewhere that it's also a asthma trigger. But don't worry if it doesn't affect you, just keep being that ignorant twat.

Really?? He'd have had that vape shoved Where the sun don't shine !!!

which Airline allowed this?

hereandthere72 · 29/11/2024 00:37

I gave up a heavy smoking addiction 4 months ago and I vape (alot) low nicotine but I do! I definitely don't vape anywhere smoking is not allowed and I am also aware about vaping around others! I've never seen anyone vaping where it's not allowed? Certainly not in shops etc?

Notcontent · 29/11/2024 00:44

It’s horrible but I think one problem is that the laws around this are a bit unclear - as far as I understand.

I have seen people vaping on public transport. So antisocial.

Amybelle88 · 29/11/2024 00:46

Regardless of the vapour, I don't want to walk into a cloud of someone's breath 🤮

Imatorturedpoet · 29/11/2024 00:56

You're walking through someone's breath all the time if there are people around!

I vape, it helped me give up smoking. It's not the same as inhaling smoke, no tar etc. I suffer with extreme anxiety and it helps me to remain calm. Probably a dummy would do the same!! I don't vape indoors, but will vape around people outside, however I only vape menthol and it doesn't smell. Call me all the names under the sun, it doesn't bother me. I prefer smelling vape vapour to some of the strong perfumes people wear, now that really gives me a headache.

glittercunt · 29/11/2024 00:57

It's a trigger for migraine, for asthma and other breathing conditions, and I'm allergic to it. Very. And I'm not alone.

Some twat of a guy was vaping inside LePub the other month, looking round him first, then blowing it out downwards.

Jerk. I didn't stay.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/11/2024 01:02

It used to be much harder to give up smoking when you could smoke everywhere. This is now where the vapers are. Never a second without their douche flute. It just makes it harder with no boundaries.

TypingoftheDead · 29/11/2024 01:42

RobertaFirmino · 28/11/2024 22:24

Oh I know full well it is not permitted in shops, not should it be. It's just that the vapour was described as 'poison' so I'm wondering if it is harmful to health.

Vaping hasn’t been around long enough for us to know exactly how it can affect people’s health, but I wouldn’t be surprised if people do end up getting sick or diseased from using them.

Douch flute! Thank you for that. That's what they are now called in my head. Brilliant.

WhatsTheEffingPoint · 28/11/2024 22:48

Agreed, you wouldn't light up a cigarette so don't whip out your vape! Even when outside I find people just vape when stood in a crowd, they wouldn't do that with a cigarette. And what is with the 'flavours' sweet, sickly smelling crap, it makes me feel sick.

Last week a friend was vaping and kept blowing out huge puffs of smoke, I warned him if he carried on i was going to throw it away, he thought he was big and clever and blew it purposely in my direction! That vape was out his mouth and chucked in the bin quicker then he knew what to do!

Neither of you covered yourselves in glory did you?
If you removed one of my possessions and threw it in the bin you would be following it....
But then again I don't believe everything I read on mn.
