For me as a single issue voter it's their strong stance against gender ideology. They are conservative which I think the country needs at the moment, they are committed to repealing the Gender Recognition Act & protecting female spaces & sports.
Aontú are quite rightly horrified at the new sphe programme & have pledged to make it age & content appropriate for children & teenagers.
Also they were ferociously strong during the care & family referendum, they were the only party to be on winning side of the No/No vote.
Sinn Féin said at the time if they were to get into power they would rerun the care & family referendums if the Yes side lost. This immediately rang warning bells for me as we are supposed to be a democracy, how many million would SF waste rerunning the referendums if they got into power.
I like Peadar Toibíns common sense, no nonsense, anti woke approach. He's a formidable debator & holds all the others to task at ease in the Dáil.
I basically want the opposite of the shower we have at the moment so that's why I'm voting Aontú, the rest will go to independents. Have no intention of voting all the way down in case anyone I don't want gets in on my transfers!
