Honestly, it drives me mad. Firstly, he takes the day off work for no reason at all.
Okay, then he gets up with the children(early risers) but when I come out he is asleep on the sofa and they are watching television.
I wake him up, tell him how angry I am!
He says sorry love, I am exhausted.
Exhausted says I! You only have one day off a week, that means only one lay in for me, and you can't even do that properly!!Don't talk to me about exhausted!!
On top of all that, I have got to do a big grocery shop as his family have invited themselves round tonight.
I am really not in the mood.
Don't worry, he says, just do sandwiches, they only want to drop cards off!
Oh yea, says I , I can imagine the reaction if I served up sandwiches!
Honestly, men!!!!

Batters PMSL

collision · 28/04/2008 15:11

Im not entirely sure what it is that the DH did that was disappointing tbh.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 28/04/2008 16:06

Alright Annie - I get it.

Im all for someone coming on and having a rant, but usually its with just cause. I just dont get EXACTLY what he has done so wrong??

Is it because he took the day off on his birthday without telling her?

Is it because she has had several sleepless nights and early mornings with kids and therefore wants 5 minutes extra kip because her dh doesnt normally do it? As he has taken off day anyway...?

She sounds as if she despises her "outlaws" and seems very unwelcoming (she said herself her sil looked worried)

hate to think what the op would be like if the DH did something really bad, like leave the toilet seat up of something ....

whispers - aren't adults supposed to fall asleep on the sofa when doing the early morning stint then?

johnso · 28/04/2008 16:27

Well,he is back in the good books. He hasapologised for being at work so much, just wanted to clear that old debt of mine off.
Ibumped into him on the garden path and he said don't worry going to woolies, buy me something another time.
so we've sat down and had a cup of tea and he is making pasta for tonight.
If the happy mood remains once whingy sil and her big footed brood turn up remains to be seen

MoreSpamThanGlam · 28/04/2008 16:41

Ooooh - given me a right laff this has!!

Quattrocento · 28/04/2008 16:57
  1. H takes the day off but this is annoying
  2. H snoozes, then gets woken up angrily
  3. H suggests sandwiches for his family and this is annoying too
  4. He gets presents bought for him at Woollies
  5. He is working to pay off your debts

Either you are making this all up or he should divorce you instantly for being the worst harridan in the western hemisphere

matildax · 28/04/2008 17:34

nope that would be me quattro!!!

in all honesty though, we all have our off days, and maybe johnno is just having one of those. we dont know her life or relationship, maybe shes feeling a bit fed up at the moment, im sure we have all been there, and also wtf is wrong with woolies????? (you bunch of snobs!!!) they sell some good games/music/dvds in there, maybe he is into stuff like that

ThinWhiteDuchess · 28/04/2008 17:57

This thread has given me the best laugh I have had in ages. The work of a genius it is.

amytheearwaxbanisher · 28/04/2008 22:05

either this is a wind up or you are a first class b its the poor chaps birthday you made him get up with the lo`s instead of giving him a rest, didnt even get him a pressent, made a big ordeal about his family coming for a meal and did nothing but give him a hard time!no this must be a wind up

helenelisabeth · 28/04/2008 22:08

What the OP has described is like a normal day in our house. . I rule the roost

KaSo · 28/04/2008 22:09

God that poor bloke! Rookiemater summed it up, everyone was perfectly happy until you came down stairs acting like a spoilt harpy.

amytheearwaxbanisher · 28/04/2008 22:11

it doesnt matter who rules the roost there is no need for her to be a cow especially on his birthday!
