lol at the mobile jousting tent. i look like that in any sort of kaftan-y thing, as if i'm actually still getting changed under it and will soon emerge butterfly-like from my chrysalis.except no, that is my outfit.

do you have norks and broad shoulders?

Blu · 27/04/2008 22:48

me, or the OP?

I have broad shoulders and a wide rig cage (I think) but average norks. Am tall, s anything which is one big garment just looks relentless. And i have an athletic walk, not dainty.

Asian women are about the only people in the worls who can get away with baring rolls of fat and still look sensuous.

AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 22:59

you, blu. i'm large of ribcage and and shoulders as well. i really need separates.

yeah, moony, that's what would put me off wearing a sari. i remember being a teen and going to a party at my mate's house and her english mum was wearing a sari and compared to all her dad's family she just looked a bit lumpy and pale.

Hmm, had forgotten about the flesh bit in my earlier enthusiasm for wearing one...

sweetgrapes · 27/04/2008 23:08

And if you don't like the exposed midriff...

Trousers with a short kurta and a stole of some sort should do just fine.

Magenta or something for the trousers -deff not black. And the kurti should be all embroidered and sequins etc.

That should be comfortable, can hide it under a jacket if you don't want to be seen in sequins in a srvice station and jazzed up further with the stole. and silvery high heels and handbag.

There... all sorted.

(Except for the pushy inlaws that is)
