It's been unopened in the fridge but the use by date is 13.11. They are looking forward to it. I am a vegetarian so nit confident thst I'd be able to tell if it's off. It looks the way it always does. Dc are 3 and 6.

Would it help to cook it?

Yawn 🥱 how on earth has humankind survived for thousands of years eating all kinds of things without nanny state BB and Use By dates, and without the blessed wisdom of ‘food microbiologists’? 🙄

Well, life expectancy has improved no end with the introduction of hygiene and food safety rules...🙄

Why dont you eat it??

Why don’t you read it!

If it was an accident and you'd already given it to them I'd say not to panic.
But to do it deliberately- just no.

mitogoshigg · 24/11/2024 15:58

I would, you can cook and stir into pasta with cream cheese or sour cream

Personally I wouldn’t risk it with children, but I’m also laughing at the advert which appeared on this thread.

Hygiene yes, but food ‘safety’ nanny state rules about use by dates replacing common sense, no.
