If you want a loan repaying then you can’t decide you’ll only accept cash ?

I was loaned £1000 by a family member. The agreement was to pay it back £250 a month for 4 months. It was transferred to me.

I made the first repayment text to say I’d done it then get a message back that they’ve sent it back and I’m to deliver cash each month to them . They live THREE hours away. This was not agreed and I don’t understand but each time I say no I’m only doing bank transfer they won’t accept it. So now I don’t know what to do and I cant do a 6 hour round trip every month for 4 months !!!

Could you save the whole amount and deliver it when you've got it ? It would mean only one trip

well you have the upper hand here. So tell them it is a transfer or a cheque by post or they will have to come and collect the cash from you if they want it in person.

I'd expect it back the way I sent it. Travelling 3 hours to pay back money when it could be done electronically is madness.

They'll have to wait until you have the full amount , visit you, or can you maybe meet them halfway if they're tha desperate, sending the money in the post I think is dodgy even if special delivery these days, still doesn't mean to say that they will receive ,

Well, yes she can, but it's unreasonable to stipulate this after the fact, especially given the distance involved.

Sounds very odd. Have you called to ask why she returned it?
