Op I could have written your post myself! I have lots of threads on this, but mine started a few months ago.
Periods started aged 11 and were long (7 days), painful and heavy
Pill (different types) from ages 15 to 26 (ish)
IVF at 27
DD1 at 28
Back on pill, then off pill
DD2 at 30
Depo from 30-nearly 33
Periods returned after 6 months but were sporadic - first few cycles were between 23 and 25 days, then 28, then the last 2 have been around 34 days long. Periods are now lasting for about 4/6/6 days and are quite light.
Never any pain or bleeding during/after sex, or mid-cycle bleeding.
Smear end of July this year (painful and difficult, tilted cervix - always have to go to colposcopy for them).
One episode of bright red blood after sex, day after period finished. Went to nurse who referred me for a scan, but said it could be an ectropian. No bleeding at all after sex since. Nurse said to keep a log.
Since, I have my period, and then I have mid-cycle 'bleeding' like you - very light pink on the toilet paper, nothing to fill a pad or mark underwear. Lots of EWCM around ovulation, last cycle a brown streak. Back to see nurse, and explained that from my log over the last few cycles, the 'bleeding' is once I've finished my period, up to ovulation, and then nothing.
Ultrasound showed everything was normal but said I have a 'bulky cervix' and scan was 'borderline'. Nurse wasn't concerned and said everything else is exactly what they would expect to see, but referred me to gynae just for reassurance because I have horrific health anxiety.
Gynae rang to book me for a colposcopy. I cried down the phone (because of said health anxiety!) and it was actually the same lady who did my smear. She said everything I'm telling her, plus my smear, and my scan, sound normal. That she can't say 100% because she hasn't looked yet, but given everything else, it sounds like it could be hormonal, and that when my smear was carried out, it's like something's been irritated.
Anyway, my appointment is tomorrow - however my period has now arrived, albeit lightly, so I'll have to ring in the morning and see what they say.
Either way I will update - sorry for the really long post, but everyone is right saying get it checked out, but I've found some posts here quite triggering, so I just wanted to share my experience. Let us know how you get on 😊
I should also add that a friend of mine is a gynae nurse and she said to me to request an MRI for adenomyosis which another pp has mentioned. An MRI is the best way to detect this, but I explained that from day 28 I get horrific period pains off and on until my period on day 35 and she said to look into this.
