Please help me . I am absolutely mortified. ( not notified ) I was having a nose at my boyfs ex on fb .
Ended up down the rabbit hole of looking at photos from about 6 years ago like you do. Not obsessing or anything like that very happy with my boyfriend just having a look as was interested. Anyway I only went and accidently liked a photo of her with my boyfriends sister of all people ... I was horrified and went to unlike however my phone was then locked and the time it took me to unlock my phone I went back to the pic and unliked it. So prob around 5 seconds it was liked for.
Anyway I am obviously mortified and my friend suggested blocking her instantly as apparently this stops her seeing the likes. Does anyone know if this is true please? I'm sat with a red face atm . Not only could she have possibly seen the like but my boyfriend and his sister also ... omg I've learnt never ever to nose on fb again 😳😳😳

We all do it she's probably done it to you too

InThePinkScarf · 11/11/2024 21:57

@boocurl That made me laugh so hard I ended up with a coughing fit and then farted loudly. Pure class!
Luckily I am in the room alone !

amoreoamicizia · 11/11/2024 21:59

This has brought back an awful memory: I was chatting to a male friend online just as friends but I'd developed feelings for him. He sent me a slightly flirty message and I screenshotted it, not realising that the feature that notifies you when the other side screenshots had just been introduced 🙈

InThePinkScarf · 11/11/2024 22:02

Does it notify them when you screenshot?
I did not know that....

amoreoamicizia · 11/11/2024 22:08

I can't remember which app now but it suddenly introduced it, quite a few years ago now.

To put this in some kind of perspective for you, @Embarrassedhelpme (if @InformerYaNoSayDaddyMeSnowMeIGoBlameALickyBoom 's post hasn't already done so) - a while ago someone posted about how they'd been taking a swatch at their ex's FB page. 😀

Ex was now married with a baby. Their profile photo featured them with new spouse and baby. The MN poster managed to tag herself as the baby and didn't realise until much, much later.

🤭😂 This one has to be the cringiest. Tagged herself as the baby 😭.

arinya · 11/11/2024 22:18

Ah this is so good.

If you want to feel suddenly tense, go to the Friends page on FB, then select Friend Requests and then the … at the top of the page. Several times I have found friend requests accidentally sent there 😆

arinya · 11/11/2024 22:21

If you also go to the search bar on your Facebook page and type liked posts, you will see the posts you have recently liked.

My husbands ex accidentally followed me on Twitter, twice. Made me laugh.

Stressed178 · 11/11/2024 22:23

🤣🤣🤣 thanks all for the laugh I needed tonight! Some of these are brilliant! Don’t worry OP, we’ve all done it 😳

SoNiceToComeHomeTo · 11/11/2024 22:25

Fact is, OP, you were snooping. Best to own it. 'Sorry, just having a snoop, didn't mean to click Like, wishing you all the best' is all you need to say if challenged- but quite likely you won't be.

StarDolphins · 11/11/2024 22:27

i remember coming in drunk from a night out having been told about some gangster type that have moved to our area having been in prison for rape & other things. I searched him up for a nosy & somehow I’d liked 2 of his photos AND sent him a friends request😭 absolutely shit myself when I woke up & saw ‘you can now message scary gangster’ I deleted & blocked straight away but I was convinced he’ track me down🤣

We’ve all done stuff that’s embarrassing op, I’d just forget about it. If anything was ever said just be honest & say you were nosying! She’s possibly nosed on yours at some point!

funinthesun19 · 11/11/2024 22:48

Ah well, those photos were obviously set to public and you’re the public so… 😄.

She may not even notice. Just keep telling yourself that 😁

If it makes you feel better, one Saturday morning i noticed that FIL's wife had quite a number of FB posts that were just various spellings of the name of FIL's previous wife. She'd obviously had a few sherries and decided to have a bit of a stalk, only she'd been posting in her status and not the search box!

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Back when I was on FB I was being nosy at an ex, then kept the phone in my hand while I went to get a delivery, when I looked at the screen again I hadn't locked it and I had shared a picture of his wife and 2 kids and added the "Feeling emotional 🥰" caption on it 🤣

I also know someone who was nosing at her exes new girlfriend and somehow tagged herself in one of her photos.

Eeeee noooo I'm bad laughing! 🤣🤣🤣

There's a really attractive guy in our gym, like total grey fox, king of the gods body and a really nice guy too.

My friend shared his story to me on Instagram of him on holiday with his top off and I replied to her saying "oh my" with panting face emojis.

But it didn't send to my friend. As it was a shared story I watched I SENT IT DIRECTLY TO HIM.

Still even thinking about it makes me feel sick 😭🤣

Crying!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 did he reply?! Did he know who you were?!

favledesire · 11/11/2024 23:26

My ex boyfriends new girlfriend sent me a private message which was clearly meant for her friends where she had screenshotted a few of my photos and edited them by drawing giant dicks coming out of my dress, going into my mouth etc captioned 'why the fuck does she think she's all that'. She then must of realised and blocked me.

Few months later they broke up and she made a new profile, I got wind of said profile and screenshotted her photos drew dicks on her etc sent them to her with the caption 'ditto' and then blocked her.

And that was the end of that

CanelliniBeans · 18/11/2024 04:07

I was stalking DC new partner mum and aunt. I forgot I was on the aunts page and liked a load of photos of my DC and partner (who weren't tagged).
The aunt actually mentioned it to DC new partner who brought it up with me. I was mortified!

This is so good. I'm currently trying to get a baby back to sleep but woke him right up with the laughing and i dont even mind. Brilliant

Don't worry OP some years ago my first long term boyfriend got married and a mutual friend put pictures of their first dance. I'd been looking generally as lots our old friends went and I accidentally tagged myself as the bride! I didn't even realise till she sent me a DM. She was lovely about it and we did laugh but I cringed. It was 20 years after we split so at least it wasn't a few months.

InThePinkScarf · 18/11/2024 12:40

One more does spring to mind now I think of it.
I had a crush on a boss and left a post on another forum about him. The next day when I went to text said boss, for some reason the link to the particular forum came up on the message I was about to send (No idea how). I was so incredibly lucky that I realised just in time before it was sent. Still makes me feel cold thinking about what could have happened.
