…found out about heated blankets.

They are the most beautiful thing,

I may never leave my house again. Or turn the heating on.

This thread renewed my interest in getting a heated blanket! I have gone with something on Amazon "keplin" in grey for £29.99. Lidl are selling the silentnight one for £24.99 from 25 November but I doubt they'll have loads of stock and I'll probably miss it!

Can anyone recommend a heated blanket I could get in Argos, M&S or TKMaxx please?

There's two different things being discussed here. A heated underblanket that goes in the bed and a heated throw to wrap around yourself on the sofa.

I was gifted a Silentnight throw which I drape over the chair and sit on. Stand up too often to have it over me.

The underblanket is a Silentnight Comfort Control. A King size on a double bed as they've reduced the actual measurements over the years until a double on a double leaves a gap all round.
£45 now, far cheaper back in the summer.

My daughter wouldn't hear of having one in the bed, so I bought her one anyway. Now she loves it when she gets into bed after a night shift.

Mine is from Argos 🥰

it’s the Habitat/Sainsbury’s “Home” one.

I got my first heated throw about 6 years ago as a Christmas present and when it died I instantly bought one with pre 1pm next day delivery. I have it on when I’m watching telly and when I’m working from home. We have a corner sofa and DH is always sneaking his feet under it. Love, love, love it.

JawsCushion · 14/11/2024 22:36

I really want a heated throw to sit under but there are so many and it's a risk of it being a mistake. Some have bad reviews.

Mine is a dreamland one if it helps and I've had it since at least 2015

Mine has a lead of about 13 foot long so don't need to be that close to a plug. Mines a Lakeland HEATED poncho.

I bought this poncho last year and it is so hot I rarely need to put it on, just snuggling in it keeps me warm enough without being plugged in! I love being able to move my arms freely and walk around wearing it - unplugged of course!

StrongFemaleCharacter · 14/11/2024 23:56

I love love love mine. The first time I plugged it in I decided I wasn't going to leave the sofa house again until spring. It is a cheap one from Amazon though and I am concerned that it won't last long. But if it does die then I know it's worth splashing out for a better one as I will use it.

I have a couple of Dreamland ones from Lakeland as like their 3 year guarantee. I have the herringbone design, found the husky, furry ones too heavy.

Look for good reviews. I is a great thing. DH is a typical make and always roasting and I saves money on heating. It’s my emotional support blanket lolz

Yes, me too. The normal fleece one is great, the heavy fur 'ocelot' one looks very luxe but is like sitting squashed under an enormous animal!

BigDahliaFan · 15/11/2024 10:13

We've one for the bed, it's amazing....had one for years. We live in an old cold house.

Pussycat22 · 15/11/2024 10:17

Sandytoesandcrabs you could put it on an extension cable and never take it off ! ( Just kidding)

SmileEachDay · 16/11/2024 08:32

Update: turns out my cat thinks the blanket is full of snakes and won’t come near me when it’s on 😂
