Because it makes the world a better place if people aren't dying needlessly of starvation, even if they are outside the UK

That's your opinion. I however just support animal charities and wildlife charities in the UK.

Which is fair enough, you do you. But your original post suggested charity abroad was inherently corrupt and less worthy. Which is gross.

For me charity starts at home. Always help your own country before others.

I give monthly to the RNLI and RSPB. I also like to give to MS charities. Not a charity, but I occasionally donate to my local hunt sabs.

I am not rolling in money, so I usually make things that can be sold in an auction or fundraising sale. I support the rescue my dog came from, SHOUT, and my local Mind branch (they get no funding from the national Mind charity).

The Aleppo Catmen/Ernesto’s Sanctuary for all their incredible work with the animals affected by the war in Syria.

Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF/Doctors Without Borders). They do incredible work saving lives in the most dangerous conditions and they just get on with it, no singing and dancing.

Yes they do. Quiet heros, every one.

Small animal charities for me. Changing lives at Carrington & Freshfields. They get no government funding & are not large enough to have expensive media coverage but work tirelessly.

I resent giving to Oxfam, cancer research etc as it all goes on huge wages imo. Inclusion managers on 60k is not where I want my money to go.

I donate monthly to canceruk and a local hospice. When I received a small inheritance a while back I donated a relatively large amount to the RNLI. I live near a launch station and see them go out in the most treacherous conditions - very brave people.
