To think women should now help Kamala Harris?

I read that Kamala Harris (or, to be more precise, her campaign) is now badly in debt.

Do you think it would help if her many supporters across the world, but especially on Mumsnet and in "progressive" countries like Norway and Ireland, rallied around and helped to pay off this deficit?

Like another US politician said, surely there is "a special place in hell" for women who abandon the woman they previously supported? Would it hurt if you sent her just £20?

Excited for Kamala 2028...

What the actual fuck are you on about?

God I loathe this "there is a special place in hell for women who don't support other women" crap.

I actually do support Harris, but she isn't owed my support because we're both women, or because we're both mixed race, or anything else.

TooBigForMyBoots · 07/11/2024 18:04

Don't be ridiculous. She isn't the billionaire(?) Donald Trump. She doesn't ask poor people to send her money.

redboxer321 · 07/11/2024 18:07

Donated.

fanaticalfairy · 07/11/2024 18:09

Lol. No. It's not her debt.

Iwantabrightsunnyday · 07/11/2024 18:12

no bloody fucking way, mate. Give her all your savings, good luck

I'm sure all her celebrity friends that endorsed her during the election can chip in and help her out.

Harris has not just abandoned but comprehensively betrayed the women imprisoned with rapists and other violent men; the women and girls whose sports are being invaded by male athletes and having their lives turned around by that; the lesbians being harassed for being transphobic if they’re not interested in “ladydick”; the women having to share bedrooms and showers in “women’s” homeless shelters with adult males - and of course the confused, vulnerable teenage (or even pre-teen!!) girls on puberty blockers/testosterone and/or having double mastectomies when they’ve barely been through puberty.

What special place do you think she deserves for that, OP?

The Democratic nominee in 2028 will be a white male, 40s/early 50s from a swing state. He will be going up against (in all likelihood) JD Vance who will be 44 years old and with the incumbent power of being the sitting VP.

If the Dems pick anyone else, they will fail again. I don’t like it, but it’s true.

As we've seen, "the incumbent power of being the sitting VP" doesn't really help.
In any case, this is Trumpland so there's a chance Vance could be ditched before he makes it anywhere near the 2028 ticket.

Aye, the candidate that centred reproductive rights in her campaign really abandoned and betrayed women. Hmm

SoupDragon · 07/11/2024 18:41

I would but I sent all my spare money to a Nigerian Prince.

MySistersCard · 07/11/2024 18:42

It’s not her money- it’s party money. Why on earth would people donate to her?

Growlybear83 · 07/11/2024 18:48

Why should women in particular send Kamala Harris money? I think it's a great shame for the world thst she didn't win the election but nothing to do with her bro no a woman - it's because Trump is several sandwiches short of a picnic. I don't give a toss whether if a candidate in an election is a man or woman.

GrumpyPanda · 07/11/2024 18:49

TheKeatingFive · 07/11/2024 12:23

Wtf? She's not paying for it herself, it's Democrat party money.

The adjective is democratIC. The way you're using the phrase is a deliberate trumptard put-down that he's been pushing since he first got into office.

CreationNat1on · 07/11/2024 18:51

Do the Democratic party not have a finance department? Why didn't they budget correctly? Who approved the over spend?

Attelina · 07/11/2024 18:54

www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/kamala-harris-net-worth-2024/

Harris, 60, and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, also 60, are worth about $8 million, according to an estimatee_ by Forbes.

Livelovebehappy · 07/11/2024 19:12

Okay, I’m going to assume you’re being genuine here (although suspect your post is probably meant as sarcasm), and would say that she will not have paid from her own purse for the campaign. The very well funded Democratic Party will be funding it, and am sure all costs will be accounted for, with a few billion left over for a decent farewell party too….

Livinginaclock · 07/11/2024 19:48

Hahaha, no.

Notaflippinclue · 07/11/2024 20:49

Over a billion dollars - pooft

VelvetUnderwear · 08/11/2024 00:05

The UK is undergoing a COL situation, this is pretty tone deaf!

VelvetUnderwear · 08/11/2024 00:06

Yeah it would hurt me to give 20 pounds actually. I'm struggling as it is like many British people are.

saltinesandcoffeecups · 08/11/2024 01:01

Haha.. I did get a text today asking me to donate (thank god only one compared to the 20 I’ve been getting daily for 6 months). Let me get in line to hand over cash… no wait instead I think I will thank heaven and green apples she (and her incompetent cronies) are not in a position to affect national spending. 😁

love your post @PrincessOlga , satirical humor at it’s best!
