Yes!

rubyslippers · 06/11/2024 09:08

Absolutely heroic

user47 · 06/11/2024 09:12

Roz Adams is a hero for all women. Her bravery is inspiring. BRAVO ROZ!

LittleRedRidingHoody · 06/11/2024 09:14

Personally I think you're the hero @MumtananoBay for posting the link without a paywall 😂😎

GC5 · 06/11/2024 09:14

Absolute hero. If you’re reading this, Ms Adams, thank you. Thank you so much.

ReadWithScepticism · 06/11/2024 09:15

Yes! Reasonable for sure. Also, she is a decent woman. If the amount exceeds any financial impacts this has had for her I wouldn't be at all surprised if she donated some of it to good causes -- even including appropriate rape crisis support for trans-identified males.
Not that she should feel under any pressure to, of course. It just strikes me that she is the kind of conscientious person who might consider that.

SquirrelSoShiny · 06/11/2024 09:16

I am very happy every time I see this vile ideology cracking. Thanks for posting.

soupycustard · 06/11/2024 09:21

She's brilliant. I'm so happy for her. But what an absolute nightmare all these brave people have to go through.

MumtananoBay · 06/11/2024 09:47

the judgement is incredibly clear as well

In his remedy ruling, Ian McFatridge, the judge, ordered the centre to publish a statement and to refer survivors of sexual assault to <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/tPpqo/www.thetimes.com/uk/scotland/article/boys-think-strangling-women-is-sexy-charities-warn-h05xdr8gh" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Beira’s Place, the women’s refuge established by the author JK Rowling as an alternative source of support for female victims of sexual violence.
The ERCC has been ordered to apologise publicly to Adams for alleging that she was transphobic and acknowledge that there was no evidence to support the allegation and that its disciplinary action against her was wrong.

OP posts:
Arglefraster · 06/11/2024 09:55

She deserves every penny after the witch hunt they conducted.
Thank you for being so brave Roz 💐

Rumors1 · 06/11/2024 09:58

This has made my day :)

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 06/11/2024 10:12

This is excellent news, especially this bit

The ERCC has been ordered to apologise publicly to Adams for alleging that she was transphobic and acknowledge that there was no evidence to support the allegation and that its disciplinary action against her was wrong

Given such well deserved egg on faces, surely Sandy Brindley must get the heave ho now? Although she'll probably be allowed to skulk away quietly.

Thelnebriati · 06/11/2024 10:17

Single sex services only exist when there is a good enough reason. Trans activists should have set up their own dedicated services instead of making women's services mixed sex.

dudsville · 06/11/2024 10:20

She deserves more, so in that way it's not reasonable. By the time you factor in taxes, pension contribution, registration and cpd fees, any hit to her practice, etc., it's a year's wage. That's not enough.

PerkingFaintly · 06/11/2024 10:24

Excellent news, thank you for posting that.

Oh, wow, that is great. Especially the public apology for the false allegation of transphobia, which I am sure will mean a lot.
How can an employment tribunal order ERCC to refer people to Beira's Place? I mean, it is wonderful if they have made this order; I just wonder on what basis their remit would extend to that?

DodoPatrol · 06/11/2024 10:31

I think, though I haven't followed this closely, that they were previously refusing to refer women to Beira's Place (if they wanted single sex help), preferring to pretend that it was unreasonable to want a single sex facility.

ReadWithScepticism · 06/11/2024 10:34

Thanks, @DodoPatrol , yes, they were indeed refusing, which was profoundly unethical. I just wondered how an employment tribunal was able to give them a direction in that respect.

DodoPatrol · 06/11/2024 10:36

Probably more 'stop pretending there are no single sex options when women ask' rather than 'you must always suggest it'?

EsmeShelby · 06/11/2024 10:36

Yes. Her career suffered because of their lunacy.

Helleofabore · 06/11/2024 10:37

She is rather amazing. And Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre management and SRC need to hang their heads. Particularly Sandy Brindley who is still there.

At least Wadhwa is no longer CEO of ERCC and Roz is still out there helping women and girls now.

Interesting. What's a 'good enough reason' please? Surely preference, safety and dignity are enough-or have I misunderstood your post?
Dammit-misread your post, sorry and please ignore.

But this is not what many TRAs want -- they actively want to use womens' facilities of all kinds, because it is all about 'validation'.
They are women and everyone must accept their wants without question.

TheInebriati is correct though. People who feel unable to use male rape crisis should seek to set up specialised support.

Yes, absolutely. I edited to say I'd misread. Really sorry.
