Tried everything, took him to a and e but they couldn't find anything wrong. No ear infection, recovering from chesty cough which started last week Wednesday. Got better by Sunday and returned to nursery on Monday. Had a good day but refused to eat. Got home and did an unusual poo. Bathed him and within 10 mins cried hysterically from 8 until midnight tugging his ear and tensing his body. Anyway today he's abit better but still cried and clingling onto me more than usual. Gave him Calpol to ease any pain and Gripe water. Noticed he burped a few times. Got slightly back to himself again and was playing then ate fruit pouch and and jam sandwich for lunch. Started crying and moving around like he's uncomfortable again and the crying began again. Gave him milk and now back to sleep.

Any ideas of what this could be... Im so worried and anxious. Trying to keep it together.

JUST had the same with my 24 months old.
It was tonsillitis. Just like in your case. Please beware that after a round of antibiotics, as a result of a sore throat, my little one developed an ear infection.

It's quite common to develop an ear infection after throat illness. So if he not getting better after antibiotics, best that in mind. 🌺

I will be mindful as they checked his ear and saw that they are slightly red but nothing concerning at the moment, so I will keep an eye! Thanks everyone 💖
