To want some new Lego?

Just had an email from Lego and this was on it but DH says I'm not allowed it even though it looks fab .

How can I persuade him that it's a necessary addition to my collection? The DSs might enjoy it eventually!

ooh califrau does he know if we can get a replacement end wing for an aeroplane, i trod on it and broke it

I love Lego and have bought a few bits for myself in the past, but now we're on one income with two DSs, I can't really justify it. Thought I could have it as an anniversary present as it was 15 years, but DH said 'no' but has just bought a Wii which I doubt very much I'll be able to play cos I can't stand up for very long and certainly can't move around much.

[Pidge stamps foot and cries 'not fair'!]

SEA, they do spare parts - we recently ordered quite a few for ds. I think there is a number somewhere on the Lego website. We needed quite a complicated order, but eventually I got through to a very helpful assistant (he was called Riccardo, I seem to remember) and we were sent everything we needed.

OverMyDeadBody · 25/04/2008 20:41

lego is the bane of my life.

Hate the stuff and spend most of my time secretly hoovering it up.

OverMyDeadBody · 25/04/2008 20:41

I think it has found a way of reproducing too, every night there is more of it taunting me.

OverMyDeadBody · 25/04/2008 20:42

It also has invisibility powers, and chamaelion-like qualities.

B1977 · 25/04/2008 20:43

That looks ace.

You might like to play Sims, if you haven't tried it already?

OverMyDeadBody · 25/04/2008 20:44

until you step on a piece

PigeonPie · 25/04/2008 20:45

I do feel a trip to Milton Keynes Lego Store coming on - possibly Tuesday at this rate!

I think at my age I'd have to make it on the dining table after the DSs had gone to bed - can't do sitting on floors very comfortably for long at the moment, so stepping on pieces I hope wouldn't be an option (good job really as can't feel in left foot!)

You can never have too much lego. It is impossible.

southeastastra · 25/04/2008 20:58

we have tons of it. i loved lego when i was little and would have gone mad for the pieces you can get today. but my sons just break it up and batman is mixed with starwars argh. never to be together again.

imagine how brill it wd be to have a room just for lego

christywhisty · 25/04/2008 23:42

My DD loves lego but they seem to have completely forgotten girls like lego. The pink Belville stuff is horrible and not suitable for older girls. Luckily my DD likes the Harry Potter stuff and finally lego bought out the houses.
Me, i want a little Indiana Jones lego man

avenanap · 25/04/2008 23:49

OH GOD! I really, really, really hate the stuff! I spend 75% of my time picking it up after I've stood on it/sucked it up with the hoover, 25% listening to ds talk about it/plan on buying it with MY MONEY/ play on the Lego website. I've had 6 YEARS of this. It's horrible, nasty stuff and my child is an addict. Can he get treatment on the NHS for this? No! Grans and aunts keep feeding his addiction. What's a mother to do? They need to ban it. It's like coke for children. Nasty, horrible, expensive, painful, messy. BAN!!!!

Rant over.

The Telegraph today had an ad for a comp they are running - win Indiana Jones Lego.

I quickly read the paper and put it out for recycling. That Indiana Whip looked like it would LACERATE the sole of my foot.

avenanap · 25/04/2008 23:58

we had a look at the Indiana Jones stuff. Indiana Jones's friend is Harry Potter with different hair, the temple of doom has R2D2 and C3PO from star wars on the picture, it's all ripped off from other sets. And they are charging you for it!

southeastastra · 26/04/2008 10:27

my son loves his indiana jones lego, they're not a bit like the star wars lego what picture you looking at avenapap
