What country did you say you were in? Was it Norway?

I meant to ask but can’t edit my last post, where did you visit @Albaamy121?

I just went to the Cotswolds!

I was underwhelmed. They were villages like anywhere else

Now to me the Cotswolds is paradise, I rent a lovely holiday cottage every year in a beautiful village that looks like a picture book, hoping to move there once I retire. It’s clear you dislike absolutely everything about this country you really should make every effort to leave, thousands do it each year so even though it’s harder now it’s certainly not impossible, it can’t be healthy living somewhere you despise.

we're all paying for the baby boomers mistakes in life

WTF does this even mean?

I'm a boomer, still renting, single mother, blah blah. We were the ones who were told we could retire at 60 before the rug was pulled out from under us.
I had a Saturday job at the age of 14.

We all started out in bedsits. None of this buying a house in your 20's. There wasn't even minimum wages in those days.

Life is change. Every generation has their own troubles. So does every country.

I'm blessed I don't live in a war zone. --I have though - in UK!!
My parents went through WW2. Their generation also rebuilt the whole shebang. Giving YOU a better life now.

^

But a lot of people did??

I do sometimes think my parents personify the whole 'boomer' mentality, but instead of having a holiday they bought a terraced house. Then they saved up (by stopping smoking!) and bought a detached house.

I do realise that it is simpler if you are double income though

I had a chat with a Ukrainian refugee a couple of weeks ago, they are rather surprised by the low quality of life in the UK.

And yet it was the Uk that offered them a haven in a time of war, gave them a home and offered safety. If it’s really that shite they can always pop off home and dodge the bombs.

The biggest issue this country has is the depressing negativity that is highlighted in abundance in these posts. Constantly talking the country down, constantly moaning, never happy with anything. It’s these types of a unique fusion of entitlement and loathing that sets this country apart for the wrong reasons.
If I could do anything for this great nation I’d eject the lot of them to a far flung miserable outpost where they would really have something to whinge about!!

Edited

There is negativity for a reason- dreadful health system with eye watering wait times, sewage in our rivers and seas, horrendous unaffordable housing, shite education system, struggling unprotected youth, dreadful cost of living ….. the list is endless. You can’t even leave now thanks to Brexit.

Albaamy said they liked Bath, do you allow them to live there?

Yet another "avocado toast". No one in our family ever smoked but we will never be able to buy a house 😂

I’m a fully grown adult thanks, so you can quit with your silly remarks and it works the other way as well, posters are allowed to praise the country they live in, their experience is just as valid as the negative posters.

Well if the colour of the stone meets their approval …..but then again there are quite a lot of terraced houses, it’s a difficult conundrum for sure.

They want to go back ASAP as it's miserable here - crap houses, horrendously expensive heating etc.
They can't go right now only because men will be sent to die which they are not very keen on.
I find it rather amusing that war refugees pity the Brits.
Their area has never been bombed as it's "Polish part" of the country.

They are renting, not living in someone else's home.
"Amusing" is sarcasm.
