To list the reasons I love my plug in hoover and not the cordless?!

It doesn’t conk out after 5 minutes of hard work (ok, 10, but the stairs alone are lengthy given the two dogs/my hair moulting, I start praying at about 8 minutes 🤣)

It doesn’t sound like a plane taking off and cause my DH’s tinnitus to start up.

It doesn’t refuse to pick up a micro particle of dust-god forbid it be more than 3 cm away, no chance!

The head doesn’t stop turning due to dog and my hair getting caught up in the spindle.

It doesn’t do the stop/start thing then conk out because the filter needs taking out and smacking against a hard surface to shake out the dust.

It doesn’t faint or sulk at being used more than once a day.

I get it, the cordless is really practical for a quick swoosh round, but having just done downstairs in seconds, plug in hoover (both Dysons) pulls like a train and doesn’t get clogged with stuffing from a myriad of dog toys having been eviscerated! 🐶🦆🐵-favourite toys.

Anyone else??

Oooo that’s very tempting!

@Pigeonqueen I hate hoovering with a passion but this was a game changer! Love hoovering now. Would never go back lol 😂

Oh no, really? XD

We have a pathetic little cheap cordless one which I use to do little spot cleans quickly. It's OK but it's definitely cheap and weedy. I can't stand the robot one and how bloody slow and faffy it is just to do a tiny little spot nor how obnoxiously loud it is when it goes back to its house to empty itself.

Then we have a cheap corded Dirt Devil cylinder thing which I use whenever we need some actual proper cleaning but it's annoying so mostly it sits in a cupboard.

DH runs the robot every night which I do appreciate even though I dislike it when it runs when I'm awake. That does a good maintenance hoover. I was thinking of getting a beefier cordless one to replace the two cheapy ones.

I read about central vacuum systems online (v retro!) and I want that now. Sounds amazing. Especially the one where you can route it to a dustpan thing at the bottom of your kitchen cabinets and just sweep all the kitchen crap in there.

My mum has one of those original Dysons from the late 90s, I cut the hair out of it about six months ago 🤢 😆 it was PRISTINE underneath, I have no idea when that was last done. Then I tried to wash out one of the filters only to be horrified by it crumbling away in my hands - tried to find a replacement but it was too old and didn't seem to exist - and then I realised it was just a solid thick cylinder made out of dust 😬 not a filter at all! Washed the ACTUAL filter and let it dry out and she said it works like new again now 😂

I use corded as I can't be doing with all.the recharging. Have enough of that with the phone.

My corded vac is a Thomas aqua pet and it's very good but it's a cylinder one & it's heavy to drag around and bulky to store away so only use it for deep cleans when I'm pulling out furniture.I love my shark cordless it's very light and picks up all the hair without getting tangled round the rollers which is a first for me, I have long hair and regularly had to cut it free from every vac I've ever had before .I'm finding it very handy for quick clean ups so I can keep in top of things more easily. We've only got a small house and this stores nicely ne,t to the boom behind the kitchen door
