AIBU not to love holidays?

I’ve been on 4 this year and can’t say I’ve loved any of them. All different holidays: friends, partner and family holidays.

I find the prep, travel and pressure to have a good time a bit much.

AIBU, do people absolutely love their holidays?

OP, are you going self catering by any chance? I don't enjoy that at all with young kids, as you still have to think about food. We have done 3 half board packages for the past 3 years, and I've loved it (and I'm someone who used to avoid package holidays!). I've had warm weather, access to a pool, no cleaning, no cooking, fresh bed linen and towels done for me, and happy DDs (age 6 and 3) who are delighted with a swimming pool and ice cream.

Funny you should say that.

I'm on holiday abroad at the moment and I'm so ready to go home to my own bed, my tv and some Yorkshire tea.

I've always loved travelling and I've just recently realised I'm over it. Can't be arsed with airports and queues, get fed up of eating out constantly, don't like the pressure to "go out" every night for a week or more.

In contrast, a week in a lovely cottage by the sea with a log burner and Netflix really excites me 😂 I'm happy to be out walking in the fresh air every day, don't even mind if it's not sunny. Maybe our tastes and priorities just change.

Really enjoyed my week in Cornwall. Every evening wrapped up in a lovely blanket, listening to the sea and drinking a glass of wine. I have zero interest in getting glammed up and going out for a meal. I do miss getting a tan, but that's literally it.

I feel extra pressured to look really good on holiday as well . So in the lead up I've got to make sure I've had hair done, nails etc and got some nice stuff to wear, and lost a few pounds

Is anyone else like this ?

Not in the least. I take my own shampoo and conditioner because hotel stuff can make my hair feel a bit funny but those, toothpaste and suncream are the only toiletries I take.

I love them and spend any spare money on them! We always go all inclusive or with some sort of meal plan, and always in hotels so I get a week or two off from meal planning and cleaning. We have primary aged children who are perfectly happy with pools, water parks, beaches, theme parks and day trips.

I'm not into fashion or beauty stuff though so I just pack about 10 vests/shorts, a few pairs of smarter trousers, a few dresses, a pair of smart sandals and a pair of flips flops. Repeat that for everyone in our family of 5 basically and we're good to go! I use the toiletries provided in the hotel so very quick to pack and go, just need sun cream and toothpaste. Kids pack their own carry ons, I just make sure I've got passports and a book pretty much.

I love travelling and holidays.
I don't get the stress and hassle element people say about.
Maybe it's stressful if you over plan ?

Do any of you who enjoy holidays work full time and have tweens? I get very little downtime in my normal life so I really enjoy the holidays.

However the washing, packing and then catching up with work ruins it for me. I envy people who work part time and are more rested gping on holidays. The tweens want to go to loads of shops for holiday clothes in the lead up. I have to take them so Saturdays are booked up.
