I’ve recently realised my husband isn’t washing his hands after using the toilet. I’ve spoken to him about this several times and he’s been very defensive and doesn’t see anything wrong with this and hasn’t changed his behaviour. AIBU to find this disgusting?

Ugh no you are definitely not unreasonable or germ phobic, it's absolute basic hygiene. Why do people do this, it's lazy and basically just spreading their pee, poo and nether-sweat everywhere.

It's revolting. Men seem to think that if they've only had a wee it's okay as they're only touching their own dicks. Ew.

This was one of the running arguments at the end of my marriage, following covid. I'd always suspected but wasn't that bothered as long as he washed his hands before cooking, but during and after covid it started to really bother me, and he made a big deal out of how 'controlling' I'd become.

It's disgusting and makes my stomach turn especially supermarket toilet.. exit cubicle by pass hand washing and potentially touch the same produce as me🤮I'm male not that should make a difference to personal hygiene.

I’m sure most males don’t bother and if they do as a token gesture, it’s just a two -second rinse of their fingertips, not a proper wash with soap. Men are mostly repulsive about toilet hygiene and boys learn to be repulsive too. It’s a constant battle reminding my little grandsons to wash their hands properly and not just show their fingertips a drop of water.

Plenty of women don't wash their hands too, seen it often in pubs/supermarkets. It's disgusting!

On a night out once asked a well known takeaway locally if I could use their toilet- they let me but there was no soap, filthy little sink, no paper towels/hand dryer. I am guessing nobody must wash their hands there. Awful.

I worked with a girl who was the same. Poop and not wash, sick and not wash. One of her kids got worms at one point and I’m not suprised, if she couldn’t wash her hands how could she teach her kids to? A colleague went to her house and apparently the kitchen was vile. Days worth of dishes sitting in stale water in the sink and you could see where the worktops were wiped to with the join between worktop and tile all crusted with dirt.
the poop hand girl would laugh at me for washing my hands after a wee, using sanitiser so my hands were wet, rubbing the door handle inside and out, then washing my hands again in work.
some people are just dirty no matter their gender.
