Topless in gym pool?

I don't know if this is such an obvious question, but men obviously just wear swimming shorts, as a woman, could I be topless? Or would I be asked to leave?

I mean people sexualise boobs but they're there for a purpose... to feed babies. Surely if men can a woman can?

They could chuck you out. It wouldn't be discrimination because most places have the right to refuse entry for any reason. You being topless would almost certainly be one of them. I'm absolutely a feminist but do not want to see swinging boobs flapping and splashing around if I'm honest.

I'm quite a prude in some ways but I can see the argument that if men go topless why is it a no-no for women. But I wouldmt try it out at your gym pool.

I believe it has actually been legally tested and the result was that at the point a female customer, after being asked to put a top on, became so insistent about not doing so, this insistence and refusal to do so became perceived as intent to alarm or distress.

The same basis is why the Naked Rambler is frequently arrested: naked rambling in areas where people are happy to turn a blind eye = not a crime. Naked rambling in areas where you have been politely asked not to do so and vehemently refuse to abide by the request = your intention becomes questionable.

I wear a bikini to the leisure centre pool all the time and no woman has ever given me daggers! Going topless there sounds like an anxiety dream to me though so no I wouldn't.

My gym sent round an email about being appropriately dressed in the sauna ie. wear swimwear. I tend to wear a costume but there were some ladies complaining that being nude is the appropriate dress for a sauna.

These were single sex saunas as located in changing room, there wasn’t a pool or jacuzzi just a gym. I did think it was ironic as some years later they went all trans bandwagon (university gym) and get changed where you are most comfortable. So they are happy to police women being naked around each other but not men who want to be naked around women. 🤬🤯

Breasts play a role in sexual attraction and without that there would be no babies to feed. Ridiculous to pretend they’re not sexual.

Getting your boobs out down the local swimming pool is all very well until you run into your children's friends or your boss 😂😂

I get that some people are just natural exhibitionists, but I wouldn't want to see your tits in the gym pool.

So many times on mn I want to say to posters 'Men and women are not the same', but this is the most obvious.

I had a friend years ago who would walk around topless, get on the bus etc. She did it as a protest against men being allowed to be bare but women not allowed. Occasionally a very bemused policeman would try and talk her out of it. Public decency was mentioned.
Friend was fabulous, tiny and fierce, I often wonder where she is now.

Nonsense, society dictates that. There are plenty of tribes where the women are topless and breasts aren't seen as sexual.

That said in this society they are considered incredibly sexual unfortunately - to the point that women often feel they have to go to ridiculous lengths to cover up the fact that they are BFing - so I'd give it a very big miss.
