Pull out his airpod and chuck it away

I put my basket on the till, turned away to get a bag. Turned back, couldn't see my shopping basket – someone had put their basket ON my basket and were scanning their items. When I remonstrated with them, they said: 'What are you going to do about it?' Then ignored me. I swear, next time I'm going to pull the entitled tosser's bloody airpod out… What is going on?! I've never come across such dickish behaviour before.

Yes me too - this is what I was going to say!

And it is normal to have to put your basket down first, esp if you’re not that strong and the basket needs both hands

I’d have picked up his basket and dumped it on the floor. I’d have wanted to kick it away as he bent down for it, but I have a broken foot currently.

Why would you pull out his airpod rather than just moving his basket out of the way?
You say the shop assistant was standing right next to you, having just handed you a bag - why didn't they say something to this rude impatient customer?

I'm calling it. This didn't happen.

I didn't say anything to the shop assistant because shop assistants just don't want to get involved. Fair enough, tbh.

I get why another poster thinks this is made up - it is hard to grasp that someone could be so entitled as to put their basket on top of mine. But, yes, it did happen.
