Mine is a lyric from a Julien Baker song, and about setting personal boundaries in place.

Sigh

It should have been schnitzel, which I far prefer now. Kievs just aren’t what they used to be, you know.

Perhaps one day I will pull my finger out and perfect the home made Kiev.

MonsteraMama · 16/09/2024 00:26

I have an absolutely enormous monstera deliciosa who in her 18 years of life has stressed me out as a parent more than my actual human child. She's called Greta.

RustyBear · 16/09/2024 00:29

This is Rusty Bear. My mum knitted him for me to take in my pocket to school on my first day, 63 years ago this week. He was originally a deep rusty-red colour, but after several washes in my pocket and a moth attack, he’s now light brown with darker patches.

Enko · 16/09/2024 00:33

I had a longer name that jn Danish meant " A cup of coffee please" but people kept shortening it to Enko so I decided go go that.

SkiingIsHeaven · 16/09/2024 00:36

I'll give you one guess

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 16/09/2024 00:38

I'll give you two guesses! 😂

MarkingBad · 16/09/2024 00:39

Dyslexic who used to teach over 16s for a while and a psychiastrist said I was the most sane person she'd ever met ... I don't think that bar is particularly high in her profession.

Christmas assembly bangers of the 80s 🎶

I was breastfeeding when I joined MN. I've never been able to figure out how to name change.

My favourite place to be. The place I can be myself.

middleeasternpromise · 16/09/2024 00:44

Eastern Promise was part of an advertising campaign for Turkish delight when I was young. When ex-husband decided to move to Dubai and told the kids he would still be there for them, I knew we were in for more words without substance.

QueenBitch666 · 16/09/2024 00:48

David Bowie and Satan

JanglingJack · 16/09/2024 00:49

Nick Cave.

I'm not much of a yakker tho...

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 16/09/2024 00:54

An album by camel "I can see your house from here".

MrsToothyBitch · 16/09/2024 01:05

A reference to an insta account that amused me. Also, I now like think, a fond tribute to my 13yo orthodontically challenged yet sassy teenage self.

MerelyPlaying · 16/09/2024 01:11

Shakespeare, a favourite speech (and due to having absolutely no inventiveness - I love some of the names in here but went blank when I had to think of one).

Derwent01 · 16/09/2024 01:12

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 16/09/2024 01:17

I’m an English expat living in Canada. I switch between Spring, Summer and Snow as necessary.

“He’s making a mockery out of you boy”

It will never get old 😂👌🏼

Why is it more funny with the Irish as well?

I’m Welsh and imagining the equivalent :

”Oh Bat, what’s occurring. What you doing in here now flying about. I’ll catch you now, in a minute. Tidy”

I don’t know really, I just see my aunt and uncle every time I watch it! 😂😂

Bunnyhair · 16/09/2024 01:29

My DS is autistic and has never wanted to call me Mummy 😔. My nickname for him when he was little was Honeybear, and he discovered that reversing the consonants at the start of each syllable produced Bunnyhair, which became his nickname for me for a time.

MrTwatchester · 16/09/2024 01:45

Because Mr Rochester was a bellend.

coxesorangepippin · 16/09/2024 01:46

Favorite apples

birdsongfromtheshedroof · 16/09/2024 01:49

I change my username fairly frequently so I tend to just look around and it's whatever I happen to see or notice at that time. It has been many random things from observations, experiences or pieces of furniture.
