To think this is freaky … FREAKY?

On Thursday , 22nd August this year I journaled in my diary that I felt down and wished I’d gone to a certain school which happened to be 150 miles away from where I grew up - different city in a completely different UK region. My own school was terrible. I wrote in my diary that I was bitter about my background and if I’d gone to the school 150 miles away - I’d met someone on holiday who went there - I feel I’d have been much happier in life. I named the school SPECIFICALLY on my diary - it’s the first time in my life I wrote down that I wished I’d gone to a specific school.

3 days later - Sunday, August 25th - I’m on holiday at a B & B and I completely randomly meet someone who went to the school I wanted to go to. We had a convo and this info unfolded during the course of the convo. The B & B was 300 miles away from my ‘dream’ school - a COMPLETELY different region of the UK.

At no point did I give the person a ‘heads up’ that I ever wanted to go to the school or knew anyone who’d been there and I was on my own having a convo with them so no ‘friend’ could’ve leaked it.

so in a nutshell -

I write in my diary I wanted go to a specific school - first time in my life I’ve done this - and 3 days later I completely randomly meet someone who went to said school 300 miles away from said school..

I mean of ALL the schools literally in the UK!! And given we’re the same age we would’ve been at the school at the same time.

AIBU to think it’s freaky ?

thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far

Perhaps you did go to that school in one of your parallel time lines and it was a memory crossover?

I think the oddest thing is that you are still dwelling on where you went to school/wanted to go to school so many years later, and introducing the topic with strangers in B&Bs

Ah but that’s the thing - I didn’t introduce the topic !

I love it! Definitely a great coincidence.

Allow me to share my own freaky coincidence, happened when I was aged16/17.

A budget department store was having a "sale" and doors opened at midnight. There were a lot of people at said sale. Once the doors opened, I noticed a worker and was immediately struck by how gorgeous he was! Didn't know his name, didn't see a name tag, but went home and wrote about this guy in my journal! Even told my friends about this dreamy guy I had seen. I think I may have even gone back to said store in the hope of seeing him again.

Anyway, about 3 weeks later I am at a close friends 18th birthday party.... And who should walk in..... My dream guy! He had shaved, when I saw him, he had a beard, but at friends party he was clean shaven, but was definitely him. Amazed, I told my friend, thats him, thats the guy I wrote about in my journal. Unbeknownst to me, she was friends with him, via other people.

Dream boat and I didn't get together that night, it took another one or 2 co-incidental meetings, being in the same place, same time etc, getting to know each other...we ended up dating for about 9 months...

Edited

Ah that’s lovely !

The freaky thing is talking to a random person in a b&b and then talking to them about this weird school hang up.

But that’s the thing I DIDN’T give them a heads up about the school hang up!

@WhatIsThisTomFoolery24 That’s a nice story and sweetly romantic. But assuming you and this guy didn’t live all that far from each other, there is nothing strange about this at all! You probably walk past people every day that you’ve seen before but we see a lot of people so we’re not going to remember them all unless we have reason to (which you did because you fancied him!)

My kids once saw their school teaching assistant on a bus in San Francisco (we live near Brighton). It was funny- and yes, a coincidence that they happened to get on the same bus at the same time such a long way from home, but there was nothing weird or meaningful about it. They had chosen to go on holiday in the same place, that’s all. Perhaps if we’d gone to Bangkok or Istanbul, we’d have seen someone else we know 🤷🏼‍♀️
