Boys Clothes

We recently had a little boy and is it just me who is fed up of dinosaur prints/tractor prints?! Everything I see is bright with huge dinosaurs on them etc.

Also, It seems most gifts we get given is super bright with loads of designs on them. Is this just baby boy clothes in general?! I’ve bought some nice plain stuff from Next but also am struggling to find non bright non printed items! Or just my old DDs clothes 😁

Or am I just being too fussy!

How ridiculous to assume all children like bright clothing.
I personally find it more tacky to dress a child in avacado print leggings with a fox jumper. So try hard. Thank god we’re all different eh?

OP, hope you find some lovely clothes for your son.

Thank you! Thanks to some lovely posters on here I’ve ordered some really nice bits and bobs from places I’d never thought of - can’t wait for them to arrive.

my favourite online places to shop:

Zara, H&M, Lindex & Vinted

Sadmamatoday · 07/09/2024 22:35

Agree, but girls clothes are even worse with frills, butterfly's and mermaids.

Sameshitdifferentdayx · 07/09/2024 22:44

But on the subject of foxes.. I could make an exception for this one! 😂

You're right!! They don't have as nice of a variety of designs for boys as they do for girls.
Can I recommend H&M, I've just ordered
a couple tracksuits from there. No bright colours or cars/dinosaurs just a simple design and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.

My DS just ruins every top in under 30 seconds so it matters not.

🤣 oh I get that. Cannot wait for the day I can dress my DS and he doesn't dribble on it asap because he's teething.

This!!
I stay away from white and creams especially too!

I bought my DS’s clothes from Zara, they have some lovely stuff.

Oh yes, Zara was the other place my daughter's inherited clothes came from. I've never actually shopped there myself.

Sartre · 08/09/2024 07:17

A few brands steer away from the emphasis on this and their clothing tends to be more unisex- Frugi, Duns, Maxomorra, Lindex. Zara.

Can be pricier but you can find them on vinted.

PurpleChrayn · 08/09/2024 07:19

So many dinosaurs!

I tend to buy plain or striped stuff from Polarn Pyret on Vinted.

My daughter is nearly three now and I can no longer get away with dressing her in nice neutrals, "boys" animal tops (blue/pale green with elephants, lions, etc.). She just wants pink, purple and unicorns. She does love diggers though - a top with a pink digger would be her absolute dream!

Mooneywoo · 08/09/2024 07:24

I like my young boy to look like a child but I’m not a fan of navy and big patterns.
For colour I prefer light blue, lemon and mint rather than red and blue.
H&M, Next, Asda, F&F and Zara all usually have some nice things.

I love Maxamorra! But yes, not cheap. Also Loud and Proud, Fred's World by Green Cotton, Piccalilly, People Wear Organic, Pigeon Organics. For every day it's mostly H&M though. (Also C&A since I live abroad and we still have it here.)

Kikisweb · 08/09/2024 07:33

Honestly it gets worse the older they get, I miss young kid clothes. Everything from most shops is Minecraft, football or gaming, and for girls from age 7 it's all cropped tops and tight leggings.

H&m and Zara are good for plainer bits but look deeper into places like Asda, they prioritise Disney stuff because it sells well but they do a good range of basics. I used to work at Mamas and Papas, don't buy full price as clothing goes on sale every few weeks !

Second a PP.. Etsy have lots of dresses and tshirts for girls with diggers and things on 😊

Makingchocolatecake · 08/09/2024 09:33

Just get stripy tops and plain trousers?

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 08/09/2024 12:16

I'm going to put it out there... Sports Direct. I've found loads of non-stereotypical baby/toddler clothing for my girl AND boy.

BuenosAiresTango · 08/09/2024 12:30

RedOnyx · 08/09/2024 11:34

Aww, she would love that!

Or this isn’t a digger but how adorable! (If she’s into tractors too!) www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/style/ST944392/161157?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_jrrubQjN9a4zYtu8OGnhpquYBZ&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyqDwsZ-ziAMVD2iRBR1XIjUhEAQYByABEgK2QfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#161157
