I have a date would it be unreasonable to go casual?

I have a date this weekend, we've kind of got to know eachother over the last few months as spectators at a sports event. So he's seen me in my everyday wear and is obviously happy with how I present or I'm guessing he wouldn't have asked me out, do you think it's ok to go casual or should I make an effort and dress up a bit? When I say casual I'd wear outdated skinny jeans 😮, a niceish top and a pair of boots or flipflops, weather dependent. Any views or ideas appreciated. I would be most comfortable in what I have suggested.

There’s a difference between technical running trainers and lifestyle trainers. I’d wear non-running ones on a date in a country pub.

Agreed

I think wear whatever you feel happy in and make a bit of effort with makeup and hair ( if you wear makeup of course).

He wants to get to know you better and has already met you in clothing that you feel comfortable in.

I hope the date goes well.

I do agree with people who say 'wear what you want', and if you had a particularly quirky style, then go in what makes you feel good
but

the OP has asked for opinions as to if she ought to make a bit more of an effort as this is a first date.

Generally, OP, I would agree with most who have answered that question and say "Yes". Make it look like this is important to you.

That will look different to different people - for some that will be doing something different with their hair, for some it will mean wearing makeup even if they don't wear it 'to be a spectator at a sporting event', for some it would mean wearing something a bit more 'dressy' than jeans.
However, there will be others that never wear make up, or others that never leave the house without it. There will be some who have really short hair they can't 'put up', or straighten or curl. There will be some who wear dresses a lot and think a dress can be quite casual and everyday, there will be others who only wear a dress for a wedding.
None of us know what you are like.
General advice is to stay within your comfort zone, but go for 'a bit smarter than your daily clothes' Smile
