Are a Beatles tribute band.

Nothing wrong with that. Stuff they've done is quite catchy.

But basically, they're just riding on the coat tails of The Beatles.

Every tune or song they sing or write is reminiscent of the Beatles in their heyday. I like Oasis. Being a 60s child, I can see quite clearly that the Gallagher brothers have been heavily influenced by the Beatles.

And there's nothing wrong with that, either. Excepting that youngsters think that that Oasis have their own particular style of music. They don't. They pinched it from The Beatles.

I'm still annoyed that they embraced Christianity. They really let us down.

I know! Destiny is all, I suppose.

You could debate all day what it a 'hardcore' fan of a band or anything else such as a sports team, and who should have priority for tickets.

I work with someone who has followed Manchester United for 30 years but has never lived nor had family connections to anywhere in the area. He would probably consider himself to be a longstanding loyal fan. Unlike most fans of the club, he does actually go to matches.

@SmashingPumps So was Noel the prick and Liam tried it on?

I'd happily believe Noel was the mouthy antagonist and Liam the slow burning grump who snapped.

Yeah because youngsters have never heard anything by the Beatles, ever.

If they have they wouldn't know it because the Beatles was 'before they were born'

I remember hearing Oasis for the first time when I was at primary school, probably about 1994. I was very passionate about pop music from being a very young child (still am really!) and learned the names of all the bands and songs in the charts each week. The first time I ever heard Oasis, the song was 'Live Forever', I had an immediate negative viceral reaction to it. I have heard many many of their subsequent songs over the years and have had the same response to every single one. They are my least favourite band of all time and represent everything I least enjoy in music, I find the vocals sneering and insincere and the music aggressively pedestrian and soulless, lacking in any spark, real emotion, wit or joy. It also didn't help that the Gallaghers came to represent some of the worst traits of male rock musicians and typified the misogynistic sesspit that was 90s Britpop lad culture.
I almost exclusively listen to female pop and indie artists so Oasis were never going to be my cup of tea, but they really are pretty much the antithesis of the music I love.
I don't begrudge anyone who is excited about getting the chance to see their favourite band back together, I have friends who love them and know they mean a great deal to many people. However, I'll be glad when I can turn on Radio 1 or even Radio 4 again without fear of accidentally being treated to a blast of 'Don't Look Back In Anger or 'Wonderwall when I'm least expecting it!

Cannot stand The Beatles, love Oasis so that should give you a general idea of just how much I disagree with you.
