The Royals duty is to their family, and keeping their family on the Throne. That is why Harry's behaviour is seen as unforgiveable when Andrews behaviour isn't. Because no matter what Andrew has done to people he exploited, insulted or behaved badly towards, he is loyal to the Crown. They do what they have to to keep their position of privilege.
I agree that Harry was dumb not to realise this. That as the spare he needs to shut up about the press and anything else the Royals do, because all the 'spares' money and status depends on the Royal gravy train to keep on rolling.
